Ok: bubu is morally problematic and compromised the university. Thanks for being useless?

Pending legal arguments will shed more light. How do you know he is morally problematic? I am assuming you know him personally...

Iowa state is continuing the legal fight. There is a lot of support from other institutions that want a ruling on who gets to represent schools.I think it's pretty clear why Bubu is continuing to fight...it's HIS name, rep & future on the line here. President Leath & JP...not so much.
I have wondered what the reasons were for President Leath to pursue this, particularly in the way that this case has been handled so very differently from the others scattered among the football & basketball teams. Every step taken has been different from the actions taken in the other cases, unless you want to tell me that a felony conviction isn't a violation of the student code of conduct? I simply don't have as much faith in President Leath and his advisors as you seem to have. If he really wanted to ensure that Bubu didn't play, he should have a) notified him of the suspension so that he would have had time to transfer, or b) kicked him out of school altogether based on the code of conduct charges.
As for JP, I don't think he's the decision maker here...more like the front line forced to defend the decisions made.
I have some question with respect to timelines. Nothing else.I think it's pretty clear why Bubu is continuing to fight...it's HIS name, rep & future on the line here. President Leath & JP...not so much.

Pending arguments? The guy is gone in a month. They do not have to do much. Just let it ride.
Leath and Pollard are not stupid people. And they know their names are being drug through the mud for their decision. They're also choosing not to elaborate much on the issue.
Between those two dudes (and the people advising them) - don't some of you think that maybe, just maybe, that there was a reason for why they pursued it the way that they did?
To that end, they were completely right to fight that a court could put someone back on the team.

Trial is set for July 16 according to Travis Hines of the Ames Tribune.

Are you sure it's over in a month? What if BuBu doesn't get another year of eligibility? Are you sure he wouldn't pursue a claim for damages since he was treated so differently than other athletes who have violated the student code, in fact some that were convicted felons while BuBu was never convicted of anything? He may want to try to recover legal expenses, loss of income for having his college basketball career basically ended early, defamation of character stemming from JP and Leath's public statements, etc. And I've noticed that the people who complain the loudest about lawyers are usually the first to run to them when they think they've been wronged. Could be the same crowd that thinks BuBu should just have accepted this and gone away would be the same ones to scream the loudest if they thought they had been wronged. Actually if Leath had done his job and made the decision in a timely manner, BuBu could have had time to get to another school and Fred might have been able to add another key player to help this year's team.
