RT @Brotherhood05: Cole Huff has been given his release from nevada to all schools outside the MWC WCC PAC 12 and teams on nevada's schedule

Intriguing prospect. I found this story about his transfer.

http://www.rgj.com/story/sports/col...g-sense-cole-huffs-decision-transfer/7307347/

...Huff is the perfect student-athlete. Smart, well-spoken, a hard worker, a natural leader and an excellent player, which is what makes this so surprising...

Big fan of Cole Huff. Actually in Reno now so I met him and talked to him St Patricks Day Saturday out Brew Bros in the Eldorado. Nice guy. Didn't say anything about transfering but I told him he'd have a real big year next year and that I was a fan of his.

Would be a perfect fit for ISU hes a big and physical perimiter guy. Efficient too smart player not a chucker.

Agree.
At 6'8" 210 he is an inside-out forward that shot 40% on 3Ps and averaged over 12 ppg and 5 rpg in the MWC. Smart, hard-working, and efficient- sounds like a Hoiberg guy. At UN-R he had to play PF, but he is looking to play more on the perimeter and as a SF.

He would be a great replacement for Hogue to play alongside Georges and McKay.
Although Nevada blocked all major programs in the west, I am guessing it will be tough to land him. One connection is that Hogue and McKay played with his teammate Ronnie Stevens Jr at IHCC.

By 'those three guys' are you referring to Hogue, Niang, and McKay? I assume he'd have to sit out a year and then have two years of eligibility. Either way Niang and McKay are both the PF he doesn't want to play, so it could even help to show we already have those spots filled.

He looks like an Abdel Nader type player IMO. Definitely very talented player that I think would thrive in Fred's system. Sounds like he wants to play the 3, and does not like the 4 or 5. That is why he is leaving Nevada, because they were posting him up and playing him as a 4.

I guess it all depends on what Fred feels he needs. Does Fred want more of a combo 2 guard or a post player instead? This guy is a wing player, a small forward.

So....are you in a position to find him and put in a huge plug for improving his game in Ames? Sounds like a good fit to me. And, California guys like the newness of snow....well, maybe sometimes. lol

I know it's a HS tape but does this guy remind anyone else of Penny Hardaway?

Yeah wish I got a picture with the dude or asked for his number. Maybe hes back there tonight ha. Im not going out though Im in shock and am devastated the unthinkable could happen monday. Couldn't even watch the second game woke up right after Kentucky won I had to go to sleep with Florida down 10 and a couple minutes left and still feel physically sick.

Those transfer sanctions are extreme you have to think they get lifted to MWC and a few other teams but if they know where he wants to go they'll keep that team on his restricted list.

What I can say though is he would be a better fit fighting Niang and Nader for shots and minutes on a loaded contender than he would be having to carry a really bad team and put up 20+ a game. Could use the year of getting stronger too. Really good form on his threes.

@EvanDaniels: Ohio's Athletic Director refused to give Tariq Owens, a four-star recruit, his release, according to a source.

@EvanDaniels: Same source says, Tariq Owens has no intentions of going to Ohio and would sit out a year if he has to.

Idk about Chiles. Undersized 2-guard who would only eat into Naz and MT's minutes. Doesn't really provide mismatches...I'd rather them not pursue him, to be honest. In my mind,it should be a game changer or bust.
