Walking Dead

This. And I don't think it's close. Although I will say I thought the 2nd season was pretty well written too.

The only time the series sucked was when seven episodes in a row were them sitting around the farm house performing soliloquies. That was truly bad, but since then certain fans are on edge wanting all action all the time afraid of another horrible stretch like that. I think Season 3 and 4 in general were back to the quality of 1.

It's obvious Terminus is taking the place of the roadside guys from the comic. If that plays out similar to the comic, Rick's little moment at the beginning of the episode would just be a spec of what darkness lies ahead. I thought the dedication room gave it away before anything else.

Anyone here read "The Road"? Regular book by Cormac McCarthy, not a comic. Last night's walking dead was like a light playful version of the toughest scene from that book.

The second season was the year they were on the farm, right? That season was terrible until the last three episodes or so. Such a snore fest.
Disagree. Season 2 had a lot of character development. Also, you had mid-season payoff of finding out who was in the barn (not nearly as emotional without the buildup) and the battle between Shane and Rick. Those are things that you can't compress into 3 or 4 episodes. If anything should have been changed it would have been the fact that they were all sharp shooters while hanging out of the windows of cars which were driving on bumpy farmland.

I would think that cannibalism would be a less attractive option than just going out and getting animals to raise. I suppose if you can herd them right to you humans are easier to catch.

Rick's going to have to come up with something to get them out of this one. Also, not happy that they didn't show us what happened to Beth.

Less energy expended. Look at it like it's not humans. Would you rather go out, hunting and tracking deer with the risk of walkers out there, or would you rather have a way they walk right up to you willingly for slaughter in the safety of your barracks?

Speaking as someone that doesn't eat people.... I would rather hunt what should be an insane over abundance of deer.

It's not the "zombie killin," but the tension and suspense that made this a good episode.

Yup. i was like, huh, they reached Terminus, but there is still about 15 minutes left. They are cannibals for sure, and reading synopsis of "The Hunters", this will be a very interesting next season.

On the Talking Dead show last night, they said they like to reinvent the show every eight episodes.

I'd rather not eat another human being. You can attract and trap animals. It's a horror show so I am glad they are exploring the option. Just don't think it is as likely in their circumstances. I figured they would be trapping people to use them for slave labor, cultivating fields and fetching water, supplies etc. With possible food aside from other humans it is less plausible. In The Road cannibalism was more likely due to the shrinking food supply.

With those high fences it would be pretty easy to just create a one way fence for the deer so they can get in but not out... Just plant a whole bunch of alfalfa and bring them right in.

The Road made for a pretty dark movie also.

The Boy: [they just ate two crickets after narrowly escaping from the cannibal house where people are locked in the basement until ready to be eaten] We would never eat anybody, would we?
The Man: No, of course not.
The Boy: No matter how hungry we were?
The Man: Uh nuh.
The Boy: Even if we were starving?
The Man: We're starving now.
The Boy: Because we're the good guys.
The Man: Yes.
The Boy: And we're carrying the fire.
The Man: [with a very proud smile] Yes.

Yeah, could you imagine how many deer there would be with virtually no hunting, no land development and no cars killing them…but would take decades for natural predator numbers to increase. If nothing else they could shoot a deer with one or two bullets wasted instead of 50-100 per person with their gun herding method. But it is a fun and scary plot device.

You guys do realize that walkers eat flesh right? That means deer too.

Can't think too many deer would be caught by walkers.

This, they may snag one occasionally in the night but rarely and the virus apparently doesn't cross to animals so they along with many other animals like wolves and others should be running rampant across the globe.

A show where everyone just hunts and eats deer and gardens occasionally? Count me in! It's like that awesome game Farmville, brought to TV! I would much rather watch an interesting Horror Drama I guess.

I was fine with this season. The only season kind of got bored with was when they spent like half the season looking for Sophia. It was cool when she turned out to be a walker though. Great series.

I also hope that terminus is indeed a similar storyline to the canibals. Them being canibals is only the outer layer of creepy darkness about them. How they became that will make your stomach turn. I hope they keep that because a show like this is meant to be that way. Never safe, never truely happy, always a struggle and as the zombies remind you of, it's only a matter of time for everyone.

There was an article on the yahoo front page earlier where executive producer greg nicotero says if you pause some of the shots of Terminus, there are hints and messages that let you know what it is all about. He said they also put misleading things in there to throw people off. Now I'll have to go back and rewatch with my trigger finger on the pause button.
