ESPN picking UCONN

The "picks" i keep hearing are pretty balanced...I was just listening to KXNO and their guy that called in (forget name) confidently said ISU. That's good...we are getting mad respect...then, of course, the 5 minute talk on Hoiberg as #1 NBA candidate. I just remind myself....that is the cost of success....and I think JP handled the question great yesterday..basically, "That's Fred's choice...we will do all we can to keep him here, but it's not about money to him."

They will be the underdog in every game left, which is great because I think these guys love proving everyone wrong.
We are actually favored in this game, so I wouldn't call us the underdog. Nevertheless, the guys that work for ESPN were too lousy of coaches to keep a job, so their prediction is as useful as a poopy-flavored lollipop to me.

Seriously, if you're an unbias observer do you pick ISU? You have to count on Niang's injury not catching up with us and/or our late game shooting percentage to not move closer to the mean.

Don't get me wrong, I'm liking our chances but I also don't know how much of that is my heart over my head.

I'm certainly not going to clobber someone for not picking us.

Don't know why but I am surprisingly confident about tonight's game, more so than the UNC game. I think we out-tough them on the boards. I also think our second half defensive adjustments are as good as any team out there.

Digger Phelps picked UConn. As an ISU fan that is extremely comforting...

Amen to that!

Funny aside - My son at ISU sent me a text several weeks ago asking who Adrian Dantley was, since Digger was raving about something he'd done. That nicely illustrates how relevant Digger is - his best stories are 40 years old!

I think people that know little about ISU know the Niang injury as '3rd leading scorer is out', knows about Kane and Ejim, see ISU on paper and thinks we'll win. Dudes that have seen Iowa State play some know how integral Niang has been to the offense and what a loss he is and think ISU will lose.

Those of us who have seen Iowa State play a lot think Iowa State will still find a way to win.

That is probably the best breakdown I have seen yet

UCONN is a clearly superior opponent. we will get destroyed by Kevin Ollie's wisdom, and Shabazz Napeier's incredible play making skill

Wow! Chilling! Truly insights worthy of trolling, taking the time to sign up for an account, verify your email, and post on. I'm going out on a limb here and pegging you as someone who either got drunk and thought this post would be awesome, or void completely of a life. Hmmmm........
