Watching the Cyclone Special on KCCI tonight, Jake was on talking about the Cyclones and it got me thinking... I feel like he would be a good candidate as an assistant or maybe some other position with the program someday. Seems very knowledgable about basketball.

Jake was my favorite Cyclone growing up, dude was an assassin from deep. I wouldn't mind seeing him back with the Cyclones someday in some form. Might be a solid recruiter too because of connections he might have made through Kingdom Hoops. Thoughts?

Jake would be a great replacement for Eric Heft after Eric retires. Jake has a very-high basketball IQ and is able to communicate with the audience in a casual manner.

Hi Jake. You always had a nice haircut. Loved the stories about the gloves-in-the-oven as a kid. I think you would be great to stay in the family. ISU has great health care benefits too....don't have to worry about the meltdown that all the other schmucks are worrying about. I agree with other poster too that you would be good to step into Eric Heft's role too.....think LONG term. After Johnny Orr and the Roland Rocket....Pete Taylor is really one of the ISU gods....we all miss him. Broadcasting or coaching would be good either way to keep you in family.

Blum will be a NBA announcer before all is said and done.
I know Jake broke out of a commitment to be the Iowa State basketball analyst on CTN about five years ago, but I doubt that he has burned any bridges with ISU since.

I don't remember exactly but I think Jake already had a broadcasting gig locked up a few years ago but turned it down to do what he is doing now.

Didn't Jake have some problems getting along with people when he was running All Iowa Attack a few years ago? And then didn't he come to this site and post something that rubbed a lot of people the wrong way?

Honest question, not trying to be a d-bag, just thought I remembered something about this.

He didn't post here...just wrote a letter to the parents after (I think) Barnes left the program that was posted here that he came across as a gigantic ******.

The only "bad" thing I ever heard was that he evidently advised a kid to go somewhere besides ISU. (I think that is what someone told me here). But that was during the McDoormat years and I would've told a kid I cared about to go play somewhere else too during that time. Maybe someone else has something more to add to this or something different?

Cue Gym rat, high motor, sneaky fast, and the other white kid descriptions.
so Naz, Monte, Hogue, Ejim & Georges are white? Have heard one or more of these used to describe each of these guys. I guess Kane and Thomas are the only black players we have.

I've always been a big Jake Sullivan fan. I pretty much stopped following ISU basketball after he left. I've always hoped ISU would find a way to bring him back into the fold.

So...are you saying you haven't been following this season?

Tell me not...

I think he should start a prep school, and funnel thoroughbreds to Fred. :spinny:
