Potential Transfers '14

I like Fred's choices on transfers to date, the only issue I have is I wonder how other coaches use Fred's relatively constant pace of recruiting over existing players with transfers? I would think an opposing coach could effectively use that against us in recruiting the high school senior?

Harris would have to sit out two years if he transferred in conference, I believe.

I don't think transferring in conference means anybody has to sit out longer, but coaches can put restrictions on a guy meaning they'd have to pay their own way to a school for a year. IMO, it would be dumb not to restrict a guy from transferring directly to a conference school.

Someone needs to tell me how to put tweets directly in. According to Twitter Dusty Hannas/ugly headband dude will transfer from Texas Tech.

Most Kansas fans feel that an Andrew White III transfer is virtually inevitable. He wouldn't be available next year but was a Top 50 recruit who will be a very good player given some minutes. I'd hate to see him go in conference and not sure KU would even allow it, but who knows? I hope the kid gets some minutes somewhere. Seems like a nice young man.

AWIII was beginning to see some minutes in November, but then was reported injured. No details. But he barely sniffed the floor after that. Tall, quick athletic, but sitting in the third row. Seems to be a good kid, so it would not surprise me to see him go. Of course he'd have to sit a year.

Not this myth again. What players have been recruited over or lost playing time in a manner that is greater or more abnormal compared to recruiting high school guys? If anything, having a few transfers redshirting guarantees a better chance of playing time? When Fred took over, we had 3 returning players- no one has been recruited over in any way greater than what normally happens.

@Will_R_Mckay: I have confirmed that #TexasTech sophomore guard Dusty Hannahs will transfer. He has asked for and been granted his release...(1/2)

This is a surprise to me. Texas Tech is poised to be halfway decent to decent next year. Unless he just feel overmatched at this level, which he did appear to be at times, at least defensively.

I see the following as the perfect situation playing out something like this during the next couple months.

Lee steps in and gives us a solid five in the frontcourt with Niang, McKay, Hogue, and Nader.

Edozie redshirts and finds a spot in the rotation in 15-16.

Gibson stays and fill the role of emergency big.

Fred finds a physical combo guard that can play right away as a senior.

SDW needs playing time, Indian Hills is a perfect situation as he has already burned his redshirt but would get a chance to develop at a place close to the program.

Finally Fred finds a traditional transfer who can play the wing spots with Nader and the two shooter after he sits a year.

Yes I know it's not likely but the plan seems to work well for all involved.

These 2 don't go together. SDW would never be on board with this, and rightfully so.

1) Fred gets most talent possible
2) Fred constructs team
3) Fred wins games

It's really that simple
