Asante Samuels FA Trade

first, it is asante samuel. second, i think the pats will get a shutdown corner from FA, trade, or the draft and ellis will be their number 1 next year.

Ellis was perfect for a #2 or #3 cb. Now that samuel is gone if ellis has to be a #1 he is in trouble. He is just too short to be matching up with some of the bigger wideouts a la burress in the super bowl on the final td.

The issue on the last play of the superbowl had nothing to do with Ellis' size. He could be the biggest corner in the league and still been burned - he was playing the post and the route was a flag.

bigred - what darn difference does it make? You think he is going to come on here and have his frickin' feelings hurt because I typed samuels instead of samuel? Please.

yea i think he will be on here reading this in a couple of minutes and wont be too pleased. on a serious note i dont find it that hard to proofread especially when it is someones name

I will type slowly so you can follow along:

It is a message board, not a serious mode of communication if I were wiriting an article, business email, or something I gave two strokes about I would check on it. But I do not care if his name is Samuel, Samuels or what ever.

The point was carried - I don't think anyone who sees the original post is thinking to themselves - I wonder who that guy Samuels is.

Ellis didnt get burned on that final td because plax was taller, it was because plax ran a good route and hobbs tried jumping it. that said, he will never win a jump ball against a 6-5 reciever either.

ok i will keep on spelin and you keep on presuming perfeksion on comunicating.

By the way, I have looked into some of your posts on other threads, and I suggest you exercise extreme caution whilst being critical of how others type in their posts.

haha how dare you look at my old posts. i would love to see the evidence you have found

It will probably help him because opposing teams won't throw at him as much if there isn't a shutdown corner on the other side. So he probably will have better stats overall.

That is very true... EH3 did get burned on the play in the Super Bowl, but teams never threw at Asaunte. He shouldn't have been in single coverage on Burress (one of the best jump ball receivers) in the NFL anyways. It was a great call by the offense to take advantage of that matchup.

It will make him look better in some ways by taking some of the pressure off.
