I'm basically just looking for somebody to prepare my taxes for me. They will be fairly simple, but I had some relocation benefits from my company after graduating in May that could get a bit messy which is detering me from preparing them myself this year.

Anybody know of some good CPA's or tax preparers in the Carroll area that are accepting new clients? Been doing some looking online and have come up with a long list of names, but not really any information about them. Looking for somebody reputable, but won't bend me over when it comes to cost .

Thanks!

My guess is to try to fill out the relocation expenses as income above a certain allowed tax free amount plus your other taxes as you normally would. Then, if you still feel insecure, get the extra help. Moving benefits are just another form of income.

If you want to save money don't do an appointment with any accountant (I say that as a tax preparer).

Additionally, in most practices I've seen, don't go to the person with their name on the building. Find a staff member who is licensed (an EA is a good place to start) because they'll be cheaper than going to a partner.
