Student Section

Students looked and sounded dead on TV. Do they really need to be told when to cheer? Or did they get spoiled by the undefeated start and the conference grind isn't as fun? It seems like it's fallen quite a bit off even from last year (my senior year). What gives?

What? I thought we were loud most of the game. Attendance was terrible, but we were loud.

Attendance was awful but involvement was the best it's been since probably the Iowa game. No where near that but this was the best game since break for student involvement.

Not being there myself, I'll give you the benefit of the doubt on being loud. The crowd just didn't seem "top 25 battle" crazy to me. Same thing for the KSU and OU games.

Its just sad to see what it could be a few nights of the year.... just to have nights like the last 4

I recently saw a video that said we lose creativity as we age not because our brains change but because we are worried about that next business deal, community gossip, what your coworkers/bosses think, and the like. I know I've been given a few weird looks when I cheer and yell loudly. My wife tells me not to do the smile or bicep cam because she thinks it's embarrasing. So yeah, cheer as loud as you can while in college- it is never the same.

The other thing that kills creativity is a power structure. CA has devolved into a political organization, nothing more. If students don't show up for a Top 20 matchup, there is no reason to continue to issue balcony tickets.

Cut the student section back to whatever normally shows up......1000-1200 or whatever. Open the rest to season tickets for the public, or if there are still some left over.....single game tickets to the public. If there are students that want to get seats for KU and Iowa, they will have to buy from the public single game tickets. More revenue there anyway.

When you have a top 20 team playing another top 20 team in a close conference race, it is absolutely ridiculous and embarrassing to not have a full arena for a game on national television.

Wifey sounds a little like a stick in the mud.

I am disappointed in the student showing for a top 25 game, but i'm sure a good portion of the people ******** about it weren't at the game Saturday or Tonight either. We are getting there, the more seasons we have like this the better the student support is going to get.

I think reducing the student sections balcony area is probably the best answer for now.

Screw 'em. Start opening up those sections for season ticket holders and the public.

Tonight was pathetic regarding balcony student section. IF you can be bothered to show up for a game of top 20 teams you don't deserve those. Pollard time to sell balcony seats to the general public who will show up.

All of the upper deck needs to be opened to the public, no excuse for tonights attendance.

"Oh but I have an exam tomorrow, I need to study. Wah wah wah." Screw that ****. Game was over by 8 leaving you plenty of time to study, get your *** to the game.

Has JP officially responded to this? It's a theme after every game since Kansas yet nothing changes. Some info would be nice. At least it would give students 2 more games to watch before they are kicked out of upper deck.
