Decided to make a go-to thread regarding some potential player career milestones. I'll be updating it after every game.

Melvin Ejim, going for 1,500 career points, 1,000 career rebounds, and school record in starts (Jeff Grayer, 124 starts):

1,039 rebounds- 2nd all-time. Next up: Dean Uthoff is #1 with 1,233

124 career starts- T-1st all-time with Jeff Grayer.

CycloneRulzz contribution- 133 career games played - 1st all-time, passing Diante Garrett at 128 games.

DeAndre Kane, going for 2,000 career points:
2,070 points

Georges Niang, going for 1,000 career points:
989 points

Season achievement:
Monte Morris- 5.12 A/TO ratio - NCAA season record is 3.96 by Tyler Newbold of Utah State in 2009

Could you add where Ejim's points and rebounds are at in terms of all time at ISU? Isn't Ejim somewhere in the top 5 in rebounding?

Currently 4th in rebounding, 20 behind Bill Cain, 88 behind Abdul-Aziz

16th in scoring. I see him finishing somewhere between 10th and 12th in scoring, currently 238 points behind Abdul Aziz for 10th.

Updated prior to the Texas Tech game. Ejim will tie Sullivan for career starts and has the chance to tie or pass both Ron Harris for scoring and Bill Cain for rebounding today.

949 rebounds- 4th all-time. Next up: Bill Cain at 957. (Zaid Abdul-Aziz is #2 with 1,025, Dean Uthoff is #1 with 1,233)

114 career starts- T-4th all-time. Next up: Jake Sullivan at 115.

DeAndre Kane, going for 2,000 career points:
1,861 points

Georges Niang, going for 1,000 career points:
795 points.

I think Niang will reach his milestone today. Kane will break 2,000 also.

Diante has most games played at 128 Melvin is at 123 so he would surpass Diante on Senior night against OSU.

I believe the program on Saturday said something about Monte's assist to turnover ratio would set an NCAA record if he finishes around current level. He is currently over 5 and the record was 3.9 pr so. Did anyone else see that? Must be some requirement for minimum number of assists or minutes played tied to that.

Good thread topic....With Greg M doing what he is doing at Creighton, I researched Pistol Pete, and he played only 3 years since freshmen were not allowed to play back then, and no 3 pt. line. He was on bad LSU teams too but has over 44 pts/game playing in much less games in a career than anyone behind him on the all-time scoring list. I read that former LSU coach Dale Brown tracked all of his buckets and he said Pistol Pete would have averaged over 50 pts/game (if not over 53) if the 3 pt line was in play back then....No one will ever break that NCAA record. It is like the CY Young wins record for baseball, an unbreakable record due to the differences in eras.

Do you think anyone will ever break Grayer's ISU record? I think it would be hard since if a college player was scoring that many points, would normally go to the Pros after one or 2 years.

It would take some player like Dougie McD to do it. Someone that will play 4 years as they are a tweener or whatever in the eyes of the NBA. Could be done, but very unlikely (talking about Grayer's record of course)

Stats updated through the game yesterday. Melvin is now 10 rebounds from being ISU's 2nd player ever to accumulate 1,500 points and 1,000 rebounds in a career (Zaid Abdul-Aziz).

Awesome! Earlier in the year I thought it might be a long shot but Melvin really went back after the boards after we were struggling there.
I thought so too. It seemed he was going to need to use post-season play to get to 1,000 rebounds after missing the first 2 games and then not putting up huge numbers anymore. It seems he's really put an emphasis on hitting the glass hard the past month or two.

I thought about adding steals to his milestone list. He's currently sitting at 138, which is 12th. If he gets to 146, he's tied for 10th. Depending on his scoring and the length of run ISU makes in the post-season, he could be top 2 for rebounding, top 10 for scoring, and top 10 for steals.

Can you add Monte's 5.79 A/TO ratio? I know it's not a career thing, but this way everything's in the same place.
