Not many guys 6'10 and taller can run in Hoibergs system. Sure, there are a few, but those few are the absolute elite, that will always end up at a blue blood school.

Short side of 6'8"? And Nader is 6'7" with a 7' wing span.
And no we don't "need" someone 6'10". It would be nice to get a guy that big with similar attributes as Niang but those guys are rare and are also on everyone else's list.
Last I checked, ISU was ranked. Did I miss the memo where they were not?
Nader is not a big man and McKay is a generous 6'8''.

I would not trade Georges for ANY 6'10" guy. He is the key to how Fred runs his offense and is not a "4". We need 3's and 4's that can rebound. I think between Hogue, Mckay and Nader we have plenty of size to compete. I know there is am infatuation with KU amd trust me I want to beat them too, but we have been in the Top 10 in the country this year, and ranked almost all year. All you want is a chip, a chair, and a chance im the Dance . We will have that for the 3rd year in a row (all 3 without anyone over 6'8").

Bring scoring off the bench. There is no way we win many games without having a single 'plus" rebounder. With McKay out, Hogue is a lock to start. First semester we probably go MM, MT, Nadar, Hogue, and Georges. Without significant improvement, that starting 5 gets beat by this season's starting 5 IMO.I disagree. Hogue is a great rebounder, but his offense isn't nearly as good as Nader's. To me, he is the perfect player off the bench for ISU as the energy guy. As far as rebounding goes, Nader will pull his weight. He is taller and has a 7' wingspan. He doesn't focus solely on rebounds because he has more attributes. With the exception of a couple rebounds and defending athletic wings, I am betting Nader is better in virtually every other category. I actually think they will be the perfect offset for each other. Who ever has the task of guarding them will have to adapt to completely different playing styles.
SMU is proving to be expert recruiters. Or up to old tricks again![]()
You have no clue. Fact.
Nah, I want a Tinsley, Hoiberg, Cato combo
Which game was it that the announcer said Georges was 6'9"? I about spit out my beer laughing so hard
We have a couple of bigger guys that don't play (Gibson & Edozie). We only want guys in that 6'10'' range if they can run the floor and not cause problems with our spacing. Those that have talked about getting a bruiser inside aren't going to be right, that goes against everything Fred tries to do with spacing. If we can't get the top 6'10'' athletic shot blocker types (they seem to always go to Syracuse), then Fred would rather go undersized with skilled bigs that can shoot/handle the ball and draw the other team's bigs away from the basket.
Fred is all about spacing and matchups.
Just because we haven't seen a true center work in Fred's system doesn't mean they never will
Please do tell. Because I think our best offensive player and our best defender will start over Hogue?
