Mike Johnson

If I understood Trey's tweet correctly, he current lying doesn't have a scholly from Miss St. They have another player committed that could possibly have his scholly pulled and it would then go to Gray who would 100% commit there. Gray is also extremely close with JUCO LB Jordan Harris who is on campus for us now. So to me it sounds like if Miss St opens up a scholly, that's where he's going. If they don't, then he'll be a cyclone.
Trey also said they have known attrition accounted for and one of today's commits may have to gray shirt to make room for a d tackle if need be as they want one true interior in this class. That leads me to believe Gray probably isn't happening. He was versatile but we got pick ups at his positions today. Who knows.

Great catch.I think there's going to be some interesting competition for that open corner spot this summer--and apparently we won't need a JC corner after all.

Welcome aboard, Mike!

So who might be the Gray Shirt of our commits? I am thinking Kory Kodanko. Just a guess.

Thank you Clearwater....Welcome to the fam mr johnson...good size speed and fills a huge need.....Hope ur ready, ask Nigel, ISU not afraid to play true freshman in a league that likes to spread you out, good chance you will see the field this year!!!!

No. They aren't going to grayshirt someone who committed months ago.

I believe we have done so in the past. The scholarship offered months ago may have been with a possible grayshirt if necessary. So far Kodanko has an ISU offer and an offer from North Dakota. He is an OL and from the nearby state of Wisconsin. Makes far more sense to grayshirt a lower rated prospect with fewer offers than try to talk a highly rated prospect with tons of BCS offers into a grayshirt.

It likely would come from the OL as it takes time to get them in playing shape. I don't think it really matters when they committed but rather what position they play

Generally, it comes from instate prospects, regardless of position--perhaps because tuition is cheaper.

They are talking that Johnson might grey shirt.

What about Cole Anderson? He's a 264 lb OL recruit and isn't his dad going to be working for ISU too? Not that it matters if your dad is working at ISU, but I'm guessing he could afford to pay his own way for a semester. Plus he'll need to put on a lot of weight before playing too.
