Official 2014 Recruiting thread

Trey has a ton of good information. I would recommend you paying the small fee for the service. Best $7 dollars a month I've spent.

Think it's only like 4.66 a month and worth much more than that. I went there for free trial and I think it is certainly worth it.

in other words, he's guessing too.
He thought 6. But coaches of recruits were telling him ISU saying 3. That didn't change after the departures so who knows if they are built in that number or not. Outing and others want to commit but waiting for a spot.

With the guys currently committed, we are sitting at 85 scholarships after Jensen and Rogers left. If we are looking for 3 more recruits, that means 3 more current guys are leaving. Simple as that.

It's not always that simple. The easiest fix would be that some of the commits might be switched to grayshirt status. If they are not ready to contribute in year one, it gives them an extra spring practice to develop.

Other possibilities would be either de-commits or guys not qualifying. It's always better to have a plan B to land plan A recruits than be scrambling to land plan B recruits at this point in the recruiting process.

Graham is on medshirt right so he can finish and not count next year against 85. I figure there may be 2 redshirt seniors that may also not be renewed for year 5 jensen was already done at semester and a contributor. The other 2 (if there are 2) wouldn't be announced until May am guessing. Would love to find a way to land all of these 5:2014-01-22-08-31-13.png or 2014-01-23-15-38-06.png

I think there was some talk that Richardson would also be taking a medical year and wouldn't be back on the official roster in the fall. I believe we may see another one or two of these between now and August.

I can't see how SR would be eligible for a medical year, if that's who you mean.

If he has been dealing with a recurring injury that limits his ability to practice or continue with his career, he could apply for a medical ruling. If granted, the player usually remains with the program in a position such a manager or trainer. They remain on scholarship, but don't count against the 85 total limit.

Right, but wouldn't he lose eligibility for it based on how many games he played in last season? I obviously don't know the rules very well, but don't they have to miss a certain percentage of the season?

To clarify, I believe that the Richardson being discussed in terms of a medical situation is TE Pierce R and not either of the SR's

Eligibility isn't usually an issue as the medical classification in question is used in career ending situations. It's different that the appeal to recover an extra year of competition.

What Steve is talking about has to do with no longer being on the playing roster, but still having your scholarship. So, eligibility isn't an issue. That's what was done with Pierce last fall. I believe the same was for Graham. As I understand it, once you're on that list, you don't come back. And CPR said late last season that Pierce's career was over.

When I looked at the image they had of Brett Favre handing off to Blaise Bryant, this kid had posted the above in the reply section. From the looks of the video, he could definitely get the attention of Wally and the staff!

I like him! Two things that really get my attention with this kid:

1. Once a QB or RB is in his grasp, they go down quickly, and hard.
2. He is pretty damn quick/fast for a guy his size.
