3PG 8-9 (89%)
FT 13-14 (93%)
REB 20

Stellar game by any measure. Can't expect big men to shoot like that every game but it shows the capability is there.

The perimeter shooting was a nice surprise, but lots of those shots were putbacks & layups, so their % should be good.

Things tend to even themselves out. Hogue & Ejim were 0-6 from 3 against GM.

when those 3 are making the cuts and passes they were yesterday they are going to score at will on anyyone. The second half reminded me of the Notre Dame game last year where Ejim & Niang were just constantly one step ahead of the D.

I'm shocked at the FT improvement since the Iowa game.

Coming into this year, I was worried about Hogue's free throws. He has been really good.

I love how these guys drive the lane looking to pass and only take it to the hoop if weak side help doesn't come. This leads to a ton of very easy baskets. Kane does the same thing. Amazing interior passing.

You must be talking about the Iowa game.

My exact thoughts watching the game yesterday. Hogue looks really comfortable at the line. It always seems like the high motor guys that play bigger than they are can't hit a FT. Hogue has been solid.

I've been really impressed with our interior passing as well. Niang in particular is really good finding people off the double team. That is one of reasons Hogue is scoring so many points. He just hangs out by the basket and waits for Niang or Kane to find him for an easy dunk.

Those 3 outscored Akron and had the same amount of assists. That's impressive, although Akron did out rebound them by 7.

Ha... I didn't even catch that those 3 outscored Akron.

My evaluation of those three so far this season is that Niang has improved his footwork in the block (which was already excellent) and his stamina/conditioning, Ejim is as advertised and better at staying out of foul trouble (partially b/c we have better size/strength, and Hogue has "Best B12 Newcomer" written all over him. Probably just needed better coaching, players, and environment around him than he had in HS or Juco.
