Workout Wednesday

Anyone see a big difference between the workout Wednesday video if ISU and Illinois? Besides who has the nicer room?

I haven't watched the Illinois video, but I assume they were going live or something. This was a small part of the practice and I'm sure there is live wrestling in most of out practices.

When somebody has very few posts it is very easy to spend a few seconds to glance at their post history by clicking on their name and selecting "View Forum Posts".

traparm1 just drops in every once in a while to degrade Jackson and insult the wrestlers.

Asked a simple question judo. Didn't insult at all. Would never insult the wrestlers on this team. It's a shame that you can't put your ISU skirt away once in awhile and quit insulting people that post anything contrary to what you think they should. I appreciate all of your mat side posts but the personal attacks are a little much. I watched the 2 videos and saw something that I thought was interesting. Just wondered if anyone else saw it. Thanks for guessing Buff87, "without watching I know" but it wasn't the live wrestling.

You realize your posts attacking Meeks and his family are still available for everyone to see, right? And your personal attacks on our coaching staff are also still available for everyone to see? You have 18 posts and every single one of them is a negative post about wrestling. You don't even post any neutral stuff or even post anything when our guys do well. Even NEIHawkFan doesn't actually insult our wrestlers and will contribute positively when things are going well. All you do is **** post.

So I'll go to your last post before the season ended last year.

Wasnt ISU's schedule much more tuff last year? Although there is apparent growth, its hard to say how much. Nationals should be the indicator.

It was. I even posted a reply asking if you had any input after Nationals. And for some reason you never got back to the thread.

I know we are drilling and it wasn't hard drilling, but to take this sort segment and some other teams sort segment and draw conclusions probably don't give an accurate comparison.

So in fairness traparm, I watched part of the Illinois workout and I assume you is talking about the intensity of the 2 drill sessions. Illinois was much more intense. I will still say without out watching multiple practices or a whole practice, It is tough to draw a conclusion on a short segment.

Furthermore, I remember before matches or tournaments drilling at half speed deliberately. It helps maintain muscle memory, refine technique, and limit injuries.

Who knows when the video was taken, but I'm sure intensity is not a problem when it comes to wrestlers of this caliber, and especially at our storied wrestling institution.

On another note, I don't know if traparm1 was calling out the intensity of our wrestlers or not, but if so, that would be a low, misguided, and ignorant attempt at a passive-aggressive insult.

Like I said before, I don't know if this was the case, but if it were, why not just come out and say it? We are already hiding behind the guise of usernames. No need for the charade.

My guess traparm1 is hinting at how the Illini's coaches are more vocal or something along those lines. I'd invite him to sit in on one of our practices sometime, not one right before or after a meet or tourney, and see how intense our coaches can be.
