2014 Bracketology

I still can't believe Des Moines still hasn't has the chance to host the second/third rounds. If Des Moines can host WBB sweet sixteen/elite eight and the wrestling national championships, it can surely host the second/third rounds of the MBB tournament. And before anybody says there aren't enough hotels in the area, this has already been debunked. They said hosting the NCAA tournament is a tough barrier to break with the NCAA.
Does WFC have 18k or more seats?

Bumping this thread up after a month of the season after looking at some of the current projections. We picked a really bad year to have to be good in terms of pods that are close to Ames. Really the only two that are driveable from Ames is Milwaukee and St. Louis. The St. Louis pod will be nearly impossible to get with Kentucky, Louisville and Kansas all probably going to have higher seeds than ISU. The Milwaukee might be a little easier as there aren't any slam dunk high seeds near there besides Michigan State.

I've see a couple of brackets where we're getting shipped off to Spokane as a 4 seed. That would suck.

Just thought I'd ramble a little while waiting for this damn Iowa game to get here. And yes I know it's only December, this was just something I noticed.

The way KU has played as of late, that wouldn't be a guarantee they'd be a higher seed. It's too early to tell. Kentucky is another hard team to read.

Full bracket Monday. Meantime, the pre-weekend S-Curve (CAPS=AQs): 01-ZONA, 02-OSU; 03-CUSE; 04-LVILLE; 05-Wisc; 06-MichSt; 07-OKST; 08-UK.

10% chance at a 1 seed?

If that's his true S-curve, he needs to redo his homework. Louisville a No. 1 seed, UConn not in the top two lines.

If he's just finding 1-seeds using good teams closest to regional sites for bracketing simplicity, then, whatever.

Keep in mind, bracketology is supposedly done as if the tournament field was announced today. Not a month ago, not 2.5 months from now.

This could be the year the Ivy League gets 2 teams. Harvard is the best in the conference and has the potential to be ranked by the end of the season. Princeton has been beating BCS teams and could give the selection committee pause. Should be interesting to watch.

Thanks for the post (despite my criticism of his s-curve teaser, I still look forward to Lunardi's brackets).

Would that be the first time Ivy got two? (I'm thinking in the 64-team era — possibly happened before that)

Agreed but very fair. I see us losing @ KU, OSU, BU, OU and OSU at home.

Ehh I don't think we lose at OU, but that will be a tough game. Same with Baylor but I see those going anyway. I'm going to have a very hard Time predicting wins at KU or OSU.

Does 22-6 mean we lose to George Mason in the Diamond Head? I thought we played 30 games this season if we made it to the championship round of that tournament.
