Great atmosphere tonight!
After Opie missed the second free throw, Reid Gettys said "That's as loud as I've heard a basketball arena in my life."
Impressive.

went back and watched the last 30 again to get the quote right.

I've been courtside in pep band for close games like this. He's right, it's loud. I don't know if it's as loud as Seattle Seahawks stadium, but still great! Good to know Hilton magic still lives on!

I think he sait that it was as loud as any arena that he had been in.

Mike Gessell = Darwyn Alexander

Need to watch the replay to confirm.

yes he said loudest as did Hoiberg in the presser

I have been there where the student section was disconnecting chairs to slam them on the ground to make more noise. I credit the crowd to Iowa missing free throws down the stretch.

Crowd was great at the end, Maybe it was simply because I was in the second deck, but I thought the crowd was very disappointing the first 39 minutes of the game.

Guy up in the corner front row of the balcony had a decibel meter. During the Free throws it was hitting 101-102 db up there. Keep in mind that I'm sure it was louder on the court or anywhere more directly in front of the student section.

On the court would be louder... with my educated guess. Think of where all those voices are being directed.

Really have to give the crowd credit for the win, even though I think at times in the first half they were too shy to let Iowa hear it. Hilton is and always will be a true home field advantage. I will never forget her beautiful deafening sound from Cyclone Alley.

I think that was because every time we tried to get loud Iowa would hit a shot. It was a tough game for the fans because the team could never sustain momentum. But that final minute... wow.
