I keep hearing about this road test but why? Iowa is returning everyone from last year that played at Indiana, Ohio State, Minnesota, Wisconsin and Virginia. I realize Hilton is one of the top venues in the country but these other places aren't "easy" places either. Iowa broke Virginia's 19 or 20 game home winning streak last year, a place where North Carolina or Duke couldn't win at.

This Iowa team has been tested on the road just not this year. Jok and Uthoff are the only two not tested.

The NIT run has nothing to do with it. I'm just stating that Iowa has been road tested and all but 2 of the guys that play Friday night have played in hostile environments that they will face Friday night.

And Michigan had players who played for the whole ball of wax last year.......and Hilton affected them. Trust me....it's gets to everyone when you can't hear yourself talk and the floor is shaking.

For us...this should be all cake. We weren't suppose to be this good anyway....especially early. And although CFH has no lost love for Iowa, he has said that games this early don't mean a heck of a lot outside finding the right combo's for when conference hits. You want to win of course, but we lost to Iowa last year and I don't think anyone gave it a second thought through the conference season or when we were kicking Notre Dame's rear end in the dance.


So I think we will see the reverse of last year. They have the experienced team on the road at a instate rival. I think our guys are lose and fired up, and with Hilton shaking the floor I think we win by 8-12 points.

The pros are giving ISU around a 9 point advantage. If you are trying to predict the future, it is always wise to examine the past. Historically, virtually no competitor comes into Hilton and leaves with a victory!!! That is the bottom line. No question, this will be a major test for both programs. The winner will move up in the rankings. The loser may fall out and the first 15 minutes may tell the tale in this one. Remember, you can’t score if you don’t have the ball. If Melvin, Dustin and DeAndre deliver another warrior like rebounding effort, it is advantage ISU. We can’t forget that this Cyclone team has a lot of weapons and the team will be likely to play the way they have practiced. You better believe this powerful playmaking band of brothers are tough as nails!!! Dustin, DeAndre, Georges, Melvin, Matt, Monte and Naz will come in as a fully focused TEAM with a shared will to win! Add in Sherron Dorsey-Walker and Daniel Edozie and we should be able to move some mountains. Hilton Magic will be shaking the floor and the University of Iowa with Hilton winning the six man award for the night! Go Cyclones!

I understand that and agree Hilton is a tough place to play. But the huge difference between Michigan and Iowa is the Hawks didn't lose 2 NBA players and the replacements were only playing in their fourth game.

Scotty you say the NIT "run" (should be runs) has nothing to do with it yet put Virginia on your list and you did notice that they lost all the games you listed. Right?
 
What's interesting about the past in this series is that the last 32 years are all square. 16-16.
 
Iowa fans are seeing a slip up in their defense the past few games and I agree. They can score, no doubt, but they gave up 93 to a Notre Dame team in Carver that is not that great which just score 69 tonight in a loss at home to North Dakota State.
