Trevor Hodge vs Darius Lee Campbell

Can we PLEASE stop with the "DLK"? The last portion of his last name begins with a "C." Where this "K" is coming from is beyond me...

Dude...you're a moderator now....let them feel your wrath. Smitings and bannings all around.

<edit: To be fair, I'm not really sure that smiting is in the moderator toolkit, but if not, it should be. Nothing like a good smiting to straighten someone out. Guy cut me off on the way to work today, I smited his arse right quick.>

I watch a fair amount of video. Both of these guys are legitimately fast. Each has been advertized at 4.5 seconds. I do not know if they are that fast; but, in the videos they do outrun most everyone else on the field. I have noted some differences involving their speed. Trevor is quick at hitting holes (like Wimberly) and can accelerate rapidly. If you notice though (in high school) Trevor had a tendency to get run down (on the really long runs). Darius is different fast in that he accelerates slower; but, when he gets his 3 or 4 steps and reaches his speed, almost no one can catch him. It is impressive to see someone Darius's size run that fast. You do not see many people that are 6'2 or 6'3" run that fast. Passing wise, huge difference between Trevor and Darius (IMO). Hodge is a pretty fair throwing motion and good accuracy (very low interception rate in high school). A QB coach will have earned his salary if he can teach Darius to be a Division I passing QB. None the less, I certainly am impressed with see that combination of athleticism and speed that Darius Lee Campbell possesses.

There is more love for DLC because he just recently committed, and we haven't heard much about Hodge. Also, there seems to be a few posters who think that if a QB (or any position really) doesn't start as a true freshman, they will never be good.

I'm anxious to see some of these young QBs in the spring game. In theory we have all 5 of our QBs for at least 2 more years, with Sam being the oldest. Seems like at least one of them has to develop into a solid Big 12 starter....

IMO Hodge is too small to be a Big 12 QB. I think he is like 6'0" 170. Would not be surprised to see him move to WR. He's quick and makes people miss (based off of his HS highlights), but I don't see the arm strength.

Do I really need to put together a list of exceptional college and NFL QBs that are 6' or shorter ?

That's the first highlight video of Hodge I've watched. The way he plays is giving me flashbacks to Seneca.

Please know I'm not implying that he is going to be as good as Seneca.

Seneca wasn't highly recruited out of high school at all. Everyone wanted him to play DB, even after JuCo if I'm not mistaken.

Of course that was back when you had to be 6'4 to play QB.
