WOW... Ilgauskas, Smith, James, Szczerbiack and West... Sounds like a pretty good line-up for the Cavs....

so much for the Ben Wallace experiment in Chicago ... now he gets to pair with Lebron.

Seattle should have a ton of cap room coming up, maybe they can win more than 10 games next year, get Durant some help.

I was going to say, that is a great trade for the cavs.

Seems like a good trade for all teams. Cleveland adds some ammo for their playoff run, the Sonics will get some cap relief, and the Bulls get a big guy who can score a little bit, dump Ben Wallace, and get a bigger guard who has shown the ability to be a good player. Hughes wasn't having a good year this year, though.

I think Hughes has two years left on his contract.

I don't know ... Wally never works anywhere and West is pretty average unless he breaks out like Aldridge claims he's going too.

I'm not sure Smith will start, the Cavs still have Varajo and Gibson to work in some how ... I see Smith and West coming off the bench.

I agree with you on Wally... I see Smith starting though.

well there is a little bit more to this whole thing..

Cavaliers to receive Wallace, Szczerbiak, Seattle point guard Delonte West, Chicago's Joe Smith and a future second-round pick from the Bulls.

The Bulls would get Cavaliers forward Drew Gooden and swingman Larry Hughes along with Cavs reserves Cedric Simmons and Shannon Brown.

Seatle come away with the expiring contracts of Cleveland's Ira Newble and Chicago's Adrian Griffin as well as Cavs veteran Donyell Marshall.

ESPN - Sources: Cavs get Wallace from Bulls, Szczerbiak from Sonics - NBA

yeah, now that I think about it Ig, Wallace, and Varrejo would make a pretty slow lineup probably only 2 out of those 3.

of course James.

Then Gibson at the point and Smith at off guard/ small forward (whatever James doesn't want to be)

Wally gets spot work, and West spells Gibson.

It will be interesting if the Bulls still sign Gordon this offseason.

they were just talkin about that on espn.. sayin they want to but are concerned that they wont and hughes is kinda a insurence if he doesnt.. or if hughes steps up and they let gordan go.. should be interesting

Spot on.

It seems like these huge deals will spark some much needed interest in the NBA. These blockbuster deals are bringing about significant changes to teams. I think it's good for the NBA.

Can't disagree with that at all. I rarely watch the NBA, but i watched the Suns/Lakers last night and Gasol and O'Neil were a refreshing change of scenery.

how about Shaq in the 2nd half? he hit the floor twice diving for loose balls ... looked 10 years younger

I'm curious at what the Bulls plans are now. Gordon and Deng are both restricted free agents meaning either those 2 take the qualifying 1 year offer from the Bulls or test the free agent waters and Chicago has the right to match any deal sheet they sign which usually means someone has to overpay to get a guy which scares a lot of teams off. Both guys are going to demand nice contracts but neigther at this point are players that will draw max contracts so it'sa gamble the Bulls will likely take. I think they are more willing to match a deal for Deng though.

Hughes and Gooden are 2 guys that are classic underachievers. Both have talent but are never able to consistently string together a stretch of great play. I think combined they offer more than the aging Wallace and Smith and in the process the Bulls probably freed up some salary cap space as well but I really think they missed out on Gasol. For what the Lakers traded to get him was not even close to what the Bulls could have offered in talent. I'm guessing this will be the official audition for Thomas and Noah to see where they fit into long terms plans too with the 2 starting post players traded away now, 1 of them will have to start next to Gooden.

Seattle continues to go backwards. Pretty soon, all it will be the grab em from behind Reggie Evans Showstopper Show. When Ray Allen left, that was all she wrote for that franchise. Reminds me of the Royals.
