I think I will trust Hoiberg's judgment on the matter over yours, even though he's been burned by it several times.

It's amazing how low the odds are these freak shots will go in, but we keep seeing them.
A one handed, NBA-length, completely guarded, banked three.
Who wouldn't allow them to take that shot vs fouling.

We won the game right? The reason not to foul is the loss is completely taken out of the equation in regulation. Not every opponent is going to hit those shots at the buzzer. I hope not anyway....
How the hell are people melting down? We owned UNI in the 2nd half and ot. Sometimes good teams come out slow in the first half. I was happy with the end result. That 3 at the end of regulation was the luckiest thing I have ever seen.
The bigger mistake was starting the game in a zone or whatever that crappy defense was that allowed UNI all those open shots and got their mojo going. I know FH was afraid of foul trouble, but was a bad decision.
