Anybody else see him shoot the T-shirt gun towards the end of the game? I got a kick out of it as you can see he was having a great time.

Just like Shontrelle Johnsons little dance after his TD, it was good to see the guys have fun and enjoy their night!

Looks like George will be top tackler followed by Washington. One two punch: George Washington.
 
Loved seeing the guys having fun. They deserve it. They've put in a lot if time and effort and while not goin out like we'd hoped, glad they got this. I heard many day it was the most fun they've had.

As a fan reflecting, I think if take the 1 degree over 100. :-)

We'll see. The production is certainly there, but he's going to have to turn some heads at his pro day and at the combine. Maybe he catches on somewhere as a special teamer. Just glad to see him and the other seniors go out on a good note last Saturday.

I'm not completely convinced of this at all. He reminds me of Dexter Coakley, who played 5' 10", and just under 230 lbs for 10 years in the league. They are very similar in size, and style of play. Provide George with some good support on the outsides and so he can focus on his job, and his job only, and I think he's more than capable of making someone's roster.

He has good closing speed, He is hard to fake out. I see a good shot for the pros. I mean, he is way ahead of everyone else in tackling in the B12. Third in the country.

Anyone that is an Iowa State fan needs to go watch his post game interview on Cyclones.com. Great kid, got a lot out of it, grew up a lot. Really exactly what athletics is supposed to be about. Great Cyclone, he will be missed.

Wish everyone had this guy's attitude and played that hard, would not have the problems we have in football if everyone we recruited was like JG.

I could be wrong, but I don't think so. With George
1. He tends to be out of position a few too many times
2. He gets a lot of tackles, but some of his production is attributed by the fact that he plays with a non-existent d-line and not good line backers around him.
3. Doesn't seem to have the highest football IQ that would be required for a guy like him in the NFL

I'm not trying to bag on George and think he is a good college LB, but I do not think he will be at all playing on Sunday's in the future.

1. He tries to do too much, to compensate for the deficiencies around him, I'll agree. No doubt there are good reasons for this, as most CFs would agree, and do so regularly, that our D line and other LBs are either inexperienced or not all that proficient. George is a competitor and will do what he thinks is going to help his team out. It goes the other way too, though it's hardly ever recognized. His over compensation is also what puts him in position to make "the" play. Sometimes it pans out, other times it's no more than a gamble. Again, give him the support and let him handle his duties, and his alone, and magically being out of position is a thing of the past.
2. Better that he makes those tackles than misses them, regardless of whether it's attributed to "a non-existent d-line and not good line backers around him", as you stated.
3. Refer to your #3....What are you basing this lack of football IQ on? Your own? Just curious.
 
Jesse Smith never got a shot at the pros and he led the Big 12 in tackles also. Some guys are just not cut out for the NFL, no matter how well they do in college. Jeremiah is one of those guys. Not a big deal. He can always look back and say that he was one of the best linebackers in the Big 12 in 2013.

Ouch!!! Not even gonna give it a wait and see approach? He just has no chance? Not saying he will, or won't, but he's definitely got a fighter's chance.
