Just for the record, cyclones.tv streaming is up...if you don't want to wait until the last minute and risk missing it.

Countdown at 11:30 ish minutes to go.

It looks like they removed the "premium" note from this week's Cyclones.TV link. So even if you aren't a subscriber you might be able to access it live.

I am guessing it COULD be SEZ as the press release says "university and athletics" in it.

Yay if so.....for the uphoria and end of threads on it...but boo for then all the critics of it not being done how they'd do it. :spinny:

Lets look at reality though - if nothing is done, season tickets go down because interest is lost in this program after a 2-10 season. If they build SEZ now, interest will rise, and season tickets won't have such a downfall.

This makes no sense. The product on the field puts butts in the seats. Sure, you might get some curious interest and thus, a bump in ticket sales but compared to trotting a winning team on the field it will be minimal, and definitely not worth the effort if 75% of those new seats sit empty.

If it's not Vaughn or even Bubu Palo being reinstated, then I don't even care. I'd rather have a good football team and no bowled in south endzone than a ****** team with a bowled in south endzone too.

exactly right. with MN having 5 D1 programs in a state with one D1 football program we'd be setting ourselves up for recruiting failure. D1 hockey would be a foolish move for any school in a state without a well constructed junior hockey league set up.

There is junior hockey in Iowa and Ames has an active program. Iowa, being a small population state, doesn't have nearly the level of participation of Minnesota, Wisconsin, or Illinois. Even so, there are some Iowa kids playing in higher level hockey. ISU even has a player from Ames - Austen Parle (pronounced PAR-ell), plays forward. Besides, Al Murdoch has deep recruiting connections in Canada; states like Alaska, Washington, Minnesota, Wisconsin, and Virginia (who knew VA would be a hockey "hotbed"?); and Scandinavia as well. Pretty big recruiting area. I don't think recruiting will be an issue, but money will be.

How people didn't realize the first Vaughn comment was complete sarcasm I will never know.

Facial expressions, hand gestures, body language, voice inflection, all things that don't exist on the internet. People read what they want to and therefore, sarcasm doesn't come across really well on the internet. No matter how "sarcastic" a post may seem, without all the cues we are used to, some people just don't catch on. Hence the pirate.

I mean just look at this site. Half the people on here think the other half of posters are idiots, maybe they are right. Either way, what amazes me, as I've posted before, is how many people are still amazed that others don't pick up the "obvious" sarcasm.
