Well, there goes the Cubs chances in 2008!

I think they could have a better chance this year if they can figure out a way to not make me feel like I'm having a heart attack every time they put in a closer...

I'm with you, unfortunately it's down to Howry, Marmol, or Woods. I will admit I'm intrigued with Marmol, but not getting my hopes up yet.

Maybe he was talking about the Iowa Cubs....

the team that I hope he is playing for before the All Star break

Huh? the Cubs have a chance? Well, I guess "you too could have already won $20 million" as well.

My prediction: The Cubbies will do just good enough to crush their fans, yet again. Hey, that was my same prediction as last year. And the year before that. And the year before that....

Doesn't take much to crush that fanbase!

They should make little Cubbie Bear Weebles.....They weeble and they wobble, but they don't fall down.

is this a thread about Iowa winning the National Championship?

- keep.

I must remind you how close your Twinkies were to being gone from Minnesota a few short years ago, that one playoff season saved them. Talk about nearly crushing a fanbase.

OHHHHH..........You just got served!!!!

Sorry - it's the exact opposite - even after all of this time they sell out every game, fill the stands, etc. You only hear about teams like the twins, the marlins, the mariners, etc, who have fans that only show up when the team is winning (or when Santana pitches - so double ouch now)... I think it takes quite a bit to crush our fan base - but I will personally beat anyone off the bandwagon IF the Cubs do go on a run... I like the fans we have now, and I don't want our fan base turning into Red Sox nation lite... :biglaugh:

Who is the Woods guys you speak of? Is Tiger pitching for the cubs now?

It's Kerry Wood, not Woods.

Really not a big deal but as a huge Kerry Wood fan it kind of annoys me.

Sorry, the 12 year old in me read that and giggled.

Carry on.

Oh, and your fanbase is just as annoying as the Red Sox.

Have you seen Cub fans eat at Wrigley? We don't do anything lite!

The first day of spring training and the Cub's chances in 2008 have already been flushed. Pitcher Ryan Dempster has already stated that he honestly believes the Cubs will win the World Series this year.

I'm all for positive thinking, but when you play for the Cubs, just shut up, go out, and play hard.

ESPN - Dempster thinks Cubs will end drought, take World Series - MLB

Let me restate this for you...

The first day of spring training and BECAUSE OF THAT the Cub's chances in 2008 have already been flushed.

Dumpster is a complete joke in many different ways, this is just one of many examples.

As for the Cubs chances, I feel they have a pretty good shot with the team have put together.

All HILARIOUS comments about the Cubs aside, these are the facts.
