Hello Cyclone Fanatics,

It's your long lost friend salUTE65, who most of you probably don't remember.

Anyway, signed up for your forum back in 2010 when our schools played each other....liked your board a lot and continued to check-in for awhile after that. You guys helped me rig a contest to win a free trip to watch my Utes play in the 2011 Sun Bowl and I check in on your scores every week, hoping to see a W. I just think you guys are all-around pretty cool.

So last night, I'm sitting in Rice-Eccles Stadium and I see your score comes across the ribbon boards: Texas 26, Iowa State 30...with not very much time left in the 4th quarter. At that moment, Utah was trading barbs with UCLA and up 14-7, and for a brief second I had a vision of coming to your board today to join in a mutual celebration of our wins. Well damn, that vision was short lived.

Not sure exactly how your game went down, but was sad to see Iowa State come up on the short end of the stick - especially to the likes of Texas (blech!). Utah threw away their game (literally), and I feel sick about it today. So, I come offering some warm chicken-noodle soup (it's snowing here today) and words of empathy.

Just read a few threads (with gifs) and you can see how it ended. Also read almost any sports outlet today to see the horrible cheap shot on one of our players.

All warm and fuzzy now.

All warm and fuzzy now.

It's what we need on days like today. Although, it's evident there's a much more "bitter" aspect to the aftertaste of your loss. I know Texas fans are already besides themselves these days (their echoes reverberated all the way back to Utah after they got lambasted by BYU), but if even they are claiming you guys got screwed, something reprehensible must have happened in your game last night.

Think Kansas...with pads...

Here is a cheap shot that a Texas receiver took at one of our players

And here is the fumble recovery we got that would have won the game, but the refs didn't make the right call

All in all, it was a pretty ****** night for us. Unfortunately, it doesn't sound like your night wasn't much better

I wasn't aware that Texas had recently hired Ndamukong Suh to coach their receivers. Yeah, that's dirty. That play has generated some chatter on our boards today.

That goaline stance clearly looks like a fumble to me. Since, I'm empathizing with you, just remember that I have the pleasure of being subject to PAC12 refs every week. However, the blatant incompetency of our referees exceeds their ability to throw bones at the likes of Oregon and USC - much unlike Big 12 refs, who I've long perceived to have an uncanny knack for slipping on burnt orange rubbers before they screw everyone not named Texas.
