Blythe

He just needs to sharpen his routes and really step up blocking in the running game.

Exactly. Unless he solves this he is a day 2 hopeful... even at 4.4 speed. WR spot is more than running fast in a straight line. Especially needs to work on blocking since he will be a #3 WR (at best) on most teams.

id like to have him in minnesota we have little talent in Minne @ the WR we have sidney rice and thats about it Wade is weak Todd would be great he is tall farely quick but an excellent possesion WR

Agree 100% here. I also highly doubt he is running a true 4.4.

I agree. He never ran anyhting close to 4.4 in college. I think he/someone is trying to hype him up to get more moxey around blythe. I like the guy and he is a great big target, but 4.4, give me a break.

FYI...Devin hester (bears return man) runs a 4.45 to put that into perspective.

While im sure he is hyping himself up( as do ll draftees) you never know what his speed is actually he is tall with long legs. Look at Moss he ran a 4.2 in the combine he doesn't look nearly that fast on TV or in person. While I dont see Todd at a 4.4 he can't be to far off.

Moss didnt run a 4.2...he ran a 4.25...big difference. I know what you mean, but Moss is and was fast in college...Blythe never was known for speed.

Devin Hester is not a 4.5 40 guy. He may have ran that at the combine once, but he has been timed in the mid 4.2s.

sorry i was .5 off lol he isnt that speedy but not slow Ive seen him burn a few supposed fast Dbacks but he is more known for his hands and leaping ability.

I love Todd, don't get me wrong.

But IMO, I think he needs to get a lot tougher to be even close to McCaffrey.

And I hope Todd reads this and proves me wrong. And does it while playing with a star on his helmet. :)

I don't know this for sure, but I would imagine McCaffrey wasn't as thick out of college and added some muscle to his frame over his NFL career. If Blythe puts in the work he will add mass and have a good chance at being a great receiver in the league.

Ed Mcaffrey in college Todd is bout the same

Blythe was listed at 215 lbs for his senior year. I remeber a day when that was huge for a WR. I still think its pretty big he just looks thin because its spread over a 6'5" frame. Im sure it still feels like 215lbs when you hit him.

Devin Hester doesnt need to run a 4.16 40, the guy has hips underneath him, he is shifty, he is quick laterally. and elusive. thats all it takes. Some of you guys might have forgotten the times that Blythe could get behind defenses, TAMU 05, Nebraska 04, CU 07, Blythe has shown he has the speed to beat guys deep, we just couldnt look for him every time in 06 and 07 because people KNEW it was coming 04 and 05 Todd was under the radar for most of the time. it is awkward to see a 6'5 210 pounder run fast, you dont know what fast looks like in Tall people sometimes because you are use to seeing the fast guys be short leg and alot of body motion, Todds stride after his start gets him a long ways. He has been working to perfect the start to get faster is what he told me, Think about it, 6'5 from a dead stop, thats alot of leg to get moving. He will get it, he loves the doubters.

Matt jones was an Arkansas quarterback that was taken in the first round by Jacksonville as a receiver, since he was a great athlete. He has turned out ok, but definitely not 1st round worthy.
