Magic in This Program Will take it to 6-6

I wouldn't be surprised. . . If ISU pulls it together in Tulsa and takes that momentum back to Ames to beat Texas, that is the flip of the switch needed to get this team playing together. That confidence will carry them to 6 wins, is my prediction. Looking back, it will be clear that the Cyclones sort of needed those painful first 2 losses to help define themselves and forge an identity. *misty eyed. Rhoads will be a LEGEND.

I doubt it, but I will grant you that the Big 12 looks to be really down. Have not seen OSU or Baylor, but no one else in the conference scares me. WVU and KU look to be as bad as us. KSU and Tech are not fearsome. So if we can upset Texas, might be a few more wins available. But 6-6 is looking mighty lofty.

I'm not saying I wouldn't love it, I'm not saying it can't happen (this is surely the year to do it), but if it does happen I fully expect Spielberg to commission the ******.

Tell me again why s-c-r-i-p-t is censored? Too many people complaining about Messingham's horrible scripted plays?

Absolutely anything can happen. Despite what some of you think, the ISU defense stepped up pretty well in the Iowa game. If the offense can get a few guys back on the field, particularly Farniok, Tuftee, and a Sam at 85% this team could still win some games. Not holding out a ton of hope, but I can't believe that the Clones will not keep fighting.

OP, I had optimism after the UNI game like you do now. Then we came out and totally **** the bed against Iowa. My optimism has nearly disappeared.

I was reading this troll thread, I couldn't help but visualize in my mind's eye a very large and hairy half-giant of a man striding up to QB Sam Richardson, and exclaiming "You're a wizard, Sammy!!"

I want to give you credit for TRYING to be positive, but cant... This thread is so bad its funny. A 6-6 legend :) wtf. If he wins the Big12 this season then ill think about making him a legend.

The defense stepped up?? Hmmm.

As far as we are concerned, another 6-6 season would be considered wild success, even with the Big 12 this year. I almost want to concede your point et al. about my over-the-top 'LEGEND' notion with a 6-6 team. But PR's program would really turn heads if he was able to salvage this season so drastically. It would be a legendary year. Anyone familiar with the early struggles of this young 2013 team would know what an incredibly memorable fete it was. This season would be the hallmark of a program truly turning the corner. One more notch in the belt: knocking off Nebraska, Oklahoma St, Texas, and going bowling in 2013 against all odds. I'm trying to be positive, going out on a limb to keep hope alive. Let's say we beat Tulsa, and Texas. Then at the end of the season Kansas and WVU. That leaves 2 upsets we need to get to six. You have to get TCU in Ames, leaving the question, who's more beatable- the Cowboys in Ames or TT at Lubbock?

If we're a dog against Tulsa, then any win we get this year will be as an underdog, meaning it will be an upset win. We don't need two upsets, we need six. And that's just to get to .500. The expectations among CFers prior to the season was that progression in the win-loss column was needed to sustain the upward trend of the program. (Basically, all of the "this is year five, six wins is no longer enough" posts.) Six wins or less this season will be disastrous. So I guess what I'm saying is, be prepared for disaster.

My body is ready.

I'll have what he's smoking...

Doubtful, but I like your spirit/optimism. At least you aren't talking like Mack Brown and Big XII championships...
Who knows, we haven't ever had to win more than 3 games in conference play to go to a bowl. Maybe they needed the incentive... No reason to give up now. (though I'll admit I'm fairly detached from football at the moment as it hurts too much to care!) Sure would build a heck of a lot of momentum going into next year.
