I think it's desperation really. They didn't land any of their first choice HS picks and they really want this guy committed. So, no it doesn't mean we have him locked up. But goddamn it would be nice if we could.

I don't think it's desperation. I think they would of done this even if they were still after all their other top priorities. They might smell blood in the water and now they're trying to make even more ground on him.

Losing three recruiting projects this past week was a blessing because it allows our entire staff to show some love for Vaughn. Really hope all this effort pays off with Wild Thing Vaughn, but it's hard to say no to a sexy school like Kentucky or Kansas. They know they don't have to try as hard as a school like Iowa State. Kentucky and Kansas remind me of the kids in high school with a lot of daddy's money and a nice car and don't even need to try but always get the hottest women.

Woops, my bad! I know they had a fairly easy path to those Elite 8s, but it doesn't matter -- they can still sell it just the same to recruits.
 
If Louisville gets these top rated big men to commit does anyone think Johnson will reopen his recruitment? Or is he locked in?

Not really expecting this as a possibility but kinda curious..
 
So other than Vaughn, who are guys in the 2014 class that we still have a good shot at? I don't feel like reading through all the pages in this thread
