So not only do they have all the tradition, facilities, best coaching and so on. This is the new thing they are sending to potential recruits.

Y! SPORTS

What's wrong with that? Seems like a good idea. Wish we had the ability to do something similar

Agreed. Not untrue, not illegal, hits exactly on the point that elite recruits want to hear.

not to mention that schools already tout the success of their graduates when attempting to entice other students. this is essentially the same thing

People will make a big deal about this because of the recent interest in paying athletes, but nothing there is unusual.

I get requests for my salary periodically from the college of design to show what the averages are for graduates. This is really the same exact thing.

Past performance does not predict future returns

not always, but it can definitely be an indicator. especially in this arena. It's not a coincidence that the elite programs in college football keep a relatively consistent membership.

I remember an article several years ago on Bob Stoops. He was showing players the difference in NFL contracts between first and second rounds of the draft. I agree is it not illegal and is probably effective in some cases. However it does paint a sad picture of college athletics. Side note- Has anyone ever seen any stats on what % of scholly offers get accepted from various schools?

Why? You go to college to get a better job and make more money right? All they are doing is illustrating that people coming out of their program make a very attractive initial salary. As said before, no different than any other program, school, college or university as a whole touting how well you will do as a graduate.

It's just smart recruiting.

How dare college prepare young men for their future career!
