Hey, I recently picked up an arcade game and I am trying to figure out the best way to repair it, this is the first time that I have done this so it has been pretty slow going. I am currently using arcaderepairtips.com mostly but I was wondering if anyone had done this and would be willing to answer more specific questions that come up through the process. Thanks.

What cabinet did you pick up?

I'm also looking for some instructions on how to repair an older pinball machine.

My roommate has NBA Jam. We messed it up moving it down the stairs in our new house though, so now the screen doesn't really work. Any tips would be appreciated.

Did you just get it on Craigslist? I just saw one for sale.

What is wrong with it?

I actually just sold a MAME cab i made out of an old machine. You could go the "gut" it route and turn it into a MAME? You'd lose the function of the coin slot, etc, but you could then have simpsons AND tons of other games. Tons of great forums on MAME building.

Yeah, thats the one. Right now when i plug it in the fan in the power supply doesnt work well but the game still comes up on the screen and you can see everything only its grey/blue and then alternates going from sharp to blurry as it stays on longer. So I think it is either a problem with the monitor and/or the chassis.

Hmmmm...does sound like a possible loose wire....or old monitor..those things spent many an hour turned on! :) Good luck with it. I've been REALLY tempted to buy one of these sometime. SMALL ARCADE - HOME
