DeAndre Kane visiting next week

That's correct. Suddenly, this changes the whole complexity of things. Anything but the NCAA Tournament with our team next season will be a failure. Totally agree that the addition of Kane makes it probable that ISU makes the NCAA Tournament. Kane could play at the next level after his
collegiate career concludes. He is that good!
Suddenly Im less worried about next season.

I don't think it's a foregone conclusion that Kane is the main PG next year. It wouldn't surprise me at all if our lineup at the start of conference play is this:

Monte
Kane
Thomas
Ejim
Niang

Here's the thing about Kane.

Supposedly his weakness is his shooting. What coach would help him the most with that (one of the most)? Fred. If Fred can improve his shot as much as he did Diante, this guy could be a world-beater.

Plus, I think he'll play PG here at first, ease Monte into his role.

Win-win for ISU.

Definitely a possibility. That looks like a really good lineup to me.

I prefer not to see any of our commits leave, so how about this for a theory...

Maybe Bubu or Naz Long voluenteers to give up his scholly to open one up for Kane. Like what Michael Bradley did at UCONN so they could bring in Andre Drummond. Then we could keep everyone!

Ok, I know this will likely never happen, but I can dream!

So, so small. I love it though.

I love the options it gives us. It allows Morris and SDW to ease into the Big 12 as needed. Or it allows us to push hard all night long while giving guys plenty of rest by having a deep rotation.

I see alot of Hawk fans tweeting about his NCAA high techincal fouls last season, his spitting on a fan, and assault and battery charges from a few years back. Im assuming this has been discussed in this thread, but Im not going through 40 pages to make sure.

Kane was playing out of position at Marshall by playing the point. With Bubu, Long, and Monte here, I don't think it should be assumed at all that he will play the point. He may play it some, but he can be used as a 2 or even a 3 also.

I think this may be an even more athletic team than last year's. It is going to be fun to watch how CFH makes all the pieces fit.

It came up somewhere, but I don't remember much about it.

I look at it this way: If he can pick up technical fouls and spit of refs, he's a third of the way to matching my intensity. If he steps it up a little, he'll be downright acceptable.
