He's a golfer, does anybody really care what he has to say?
He's a golfer, does anybody really care what he has to say?
That puts him a few rungs higher on the ladder than Professional Dodgeballers and NASCAR drivers, so yeah, probably not very many people care. Maybe a few.
Sergio is an idiot, but....
Why is fried chicken considered racist? Nearly every culture eats fried chicken. Serious question. I know it's a stereotype but I think some people perpetuate the situation otherwise this would be a non issue. If there wasn't such a reaction towards things like this, the younger generation may not even know that fried chicken is derogatory to a certain group.
Because those of us who have been around long enough know that "black people eat fried chicken and watermelon." Maybe it would be better if nobody "knew" that, but since everyone in the world losing their memory of this racist stereotype is highly unlikely, it's better that those who do remember make sure that racist **** like this doesn't become acceptable.
The reason it was racist isn't because he joked about inviting Tiger over for fried chicken. It was racist because he wouldn't have said fried chicken if Tiger was white.
Look at that team chemistry.Dang Clark. That was creepy.
I think Sergio definitely made the remark intending it to be racist. Or did he just accidentally pick fried chicken over every other food in the world?
Now he realizes it was a stupid comment, and is backsliding quicker than he did at The Players.
racist: a person who believes in racism, the doctrine that a certain human race is superior to any or all others.
I'm not seeing this in what Sergio said. I see a....
stereotype: a set of inaccurate, simplistic generalizations about a group that allows others to categorize them and treat them accordingly
I also see this "racist" buzz word being thrown around by a lot of writers who know using it will conjure up readers of their material. Was it a stupid thing for Sergio to say? Yes. But it isn't racist and it's tiring to see lazy usage of the word. It's a cheap tactic used by writers who visualize people nodding and applauding their "cause". We're to the point where white people call out others for ANYTHING that could possibly even mildly offend black people, and it's pathetic.
