Recruit Lists v2.0

I really like the idea of a 6'7" (and growing) PG. This might be good for us that he reclassified if we fill all our schollys with other stud 2014 recruits.

AJ Turner (DeLaSalle, MI) has decided to re-classify to the 2015 class and will attend New Hampton Prep next year, per reports.

It will open him up to more suitors.

It's not like there is a lack of suitors right now:

A.J. Turner listed offers from Rhode Island, Iowa State, Arizona State, Northern Illinois, Detroit, Oakland, Penn, Central Michigan, Eastern Michigan, Western Michigan, Toledo, Dayton, Robert Morris, and Cornell. Schools showing interest include Syracuse, Michigan, Michigan State, Florida, Georgetown, Stanford, Harvard, Georgia Tech, Virginia Tech, Xavier, and Iowa.Turner listed offers from Rhode Island, Iowa State, Arizona State, Northern Illinois, Detroit, Oakland, Penn, Central Michigan, Eastern Michigan, Western Michigan, Toledo, Dayton, Robert Morris, and Cornell. That sucks as I thought we had a pretty good shot at landing him (assuming the long shot Vaughn doesn't happen). This will only make it harder to land him, IMO and put us in a place where it's RV or plan C.

It could end up being good thing for Nick Babb though.

I think of his current offers, we were quite possibly the front runner. Now if he develops, that list of "showing interest", which is far more formidable competition, will likely result in some further offers. We aren't going to beat Michigan and MSU very often for MI recruits.

I said more.

I said more.

And I was just showing there wasn't a lack of them. We were one of the first high major teams to offer. That means something to some recruits, Niang and Thomas for example. I'm sure if the staff still wants him, we will be in it until the end since we were one of the first.

I never said there was a lack of them. Unfortunately, another year as a recruitable athlete with normal development will lead to more. Maybe even some big boys. This doesn't help ISU but certainly doesn't kill the chances either.

As of now we only have 2 open scholly's to give for '14 We will have 4 or more for 15. This is the only reason I said it may be good for us. He will certainly have more suitors by 2015. But we will definitely have room for him, and he may be more of a need for us by then.

Good point about the scholarships.

We will have someone leave, that much is almost a certainty in today's college basketball world. I bet we have 3 more to give in 2014 besides Custer.

Matt Thomas 2.0?

Has a nice shot to him. Not afraid to create his own shot either. Needs some work on his dribbling but that will come with more experience. Would be a good get for us.

OK someone please correct me if I'm wrong, but won't we have 3 available still, even including the Custer signing? I count one=Ejim two=Bubu three=Kerwin

Ejim, Bubu, and Amardi = 3 - Custer = 2 remaining '14 scholarships. I think it's safe to say, one way or another... That we'll have turnover of some kind, though.
