I like to check up on this from time to time and thought I would share. ISU is right now at 27 nationally. Spring sports are never nice to us so we are bond to drop before the final 2012-2013 standings are released but 27th through April 25th is doing great.

13 Oklahoma
17 Texas

24 Oklahoma State

27 Iowa State
41 West Virginia
54 Kansas
56 Baylor
62 Texas Tech
77 Kansas State
78 TCU

Others
11 A&M
16 Nebraska
38 Auburn (just thought was funny)
40 Colorado
43 Iowa
48 Missouri
51 Alabama

At 27th nationally, ISU would rank 3rd in the Big East, 4th in the ACC, 5th in the SEC, 6th in the PAC12 and 9th in the Big 10. For those interested, Iowa comes in at 11th place in the BIG.

Big 12 Big 10 and SEC are the only three conferences to have all its members in the top 100. I think based on the numbers it is clear that regardless of what some may try to say the Big12 is still one of the top 3 conferences.

Average Rank
BIG 23
SEC 40.64
Big 12 44.9
Pac 46.83
ACC 50.83
Big East 79.35

So the Big 10 is the best conference. Finally, it's settled.

You're not supposed to average ordinal data. So I've been told.
