yeah, hopefully he saved enough dough to pay the monthly fee for a while. Although, I'm guessing he could get a gig writing for Deadspin, if he so desired. They're pretty enamored with him.
 
The whole, if you know who the punter is something is wrong principle.

I also liked Kluwe and didn't mind him speaking his mind at all. His performance has been spotty and he was making a pretty high salary.

Good business move by the Vikings in my opinion.
 
It's funny how a lot of people think we cut him because of him speaking out. He just wasn't performing that well, wish he would have spent more time working on his punting.

Hope the new guy is the next Blair Walsh of punting

I don't disagree at all, but once the ST coach went on radio stating Klewe should "just shut up and worry about punting" I think the writing was on the wall.

Which is the point I was trying to make, in a clumsy sort of way. Kluwe is free to say what he wants. The Vikings are free to replace him.

I thought your point was good. I've worked with people who don't understand that documents meant to limit to the government don't exactly translate their workplace. I agree with the people who say that Kluwe was cut because he wasn't that good, but thought you made a good point.
 
Agreed, that did seem to be the beginning of the end. But its important to note that comment was about covering up the Hall of Fame emblem on his jersey not being outspoken on any political issues.

Gotcha. Missed the significance of the quotations around "Free Speech".
