Or.... this could be a genius marketing ploy to drive up interest and THEREFORE the price in his childhood memorabilia! If Kobe wants it, it might be more valuable!

Nice analogy. Many of us have probably suffered a very similar fate. For me, it was my aquariums and lighting equipment, etc. that retailed for well over $1800 over all the years, but sold at a garage sale for $10. It was my fault for not hauling it out sooner though.
