Feldman had a great game last night against the Padres. 12 Strike Outs. It was a really fun game to watch(a rarity for the Cubs unfortunately). Didn't have to worry about the bull pen since he went the entire game. Great to see and hopefully a sign of more to come.

Complete games have become so rare, and I love to see them.

Amen. I love watching Strasburg pitch, but it sucks knowing he'll get pulled early no matter what (he's never pitched more than 7 innings in a game, even before his surgery and with fairly low pitch counts).

A slight aside, the "quality start" stat is one of the biggest jokes in baseball .

114 pitches, I was getting nervous towards the end when he gave up those home runs. Sveum had more faith in Feldman than he did his bullpen I guess. Worked out nicely.

They had a big lead. His stuff was still there. Makes you think how impressive those pitchers were in the old days when they almost always threw complete games.

He was awesome last night... He swung a pretty good bat too!

I have more faith in the weather than I have in our bullpen.

Glad to see us winning some games. Have to admit I don't watch as much since Bob left.

They have done a nice job with some reclamation projects. Will be nice when we are bringing guys up or signing big free agents.

Smardzija, Wood, and Feldman have all been VERY impressive this year. Add in Garza later in the year and the staff looks to be solid. Too bad they struggle to score runs.

It seems like the bats are starting to come around (or it could just be they have played Miami and SD) and hopefully they can keep it up and be competitive all season.

Probably mainly the Miami-SD factor, but I still think we can hover around .500 and show some improvement this year. I still believe that we'll compete and show improvement.

Signed,
Ryan Dempster last year.
