That article was about one regular season (the 2011 season). And I actually agreed completely with the writers point that Spoelstra should have been a little more creative offensively. I think part of that was due to Spoelstra still trying to use both Wade and LeBron as the lead guy, he was trying to run a lot of traditional sets. He's made that adjustment offensively over the last two years, the Heat run a lot of creative sets, using their bigs to space the floor and posting up their guards, really embracing the efficiency style of basketball of corner threes and shots near the hoop. They posted the number one offense in the league this year as a result.
And they only said he should be fired if he didn't get to the conference finals (which he did, he made it to the NBA Finals, and then won it the next year, and then won 66 games, including 27 in a row). So yeah just a few things have changed since then.
And I love that in threads that have absolutely nothing to do with Iowa, that is still you're go to insult. Pretty funny.
