NFL: Vikings looking to trade up in 1st round

Any idea what ammunition they would trade with? Beyond the obvious, Peterson, there isn't one Viking I'd trade a first round pick for. I love the Vikings, but there really isn't anyone on the team woth trading that they can do without, right?

If they could do it and still hang onto either pick 23 or 25, I'd be fine with that. Package one of those with a 3rd and a 4th and see who's interested

draft picks. It would NOT be a player trade.

I would give up 23rd pick and a future pick to trade up. Gotta get austen...would help the blow from losing percy.

though that being said, Vikes had more wins without Percy last year, but AP still needs help.

Future pick makes sense. I didn't think about that. I've tried to block those out of my head since 1989.

If they can use the 23rd and future pick or 3rd or 4th rounder to get Tavon Austin I'm on board

Teo would be a travesty but somewhat likely due to our love of notre dame players.....austin may go top ten..needa big time offer for omeone to mke that swap

Vikings will never learn. Seriously. Look at the teams that win superbowls. They don't take this approach.

If they do trade up, the trade values that make the most sense (with the assumption they trade up from pick #23):

#23 + #25 = #7 or 8 - Cardinals or Bills
#23 + #25 = #16 + #46 - Rams
#23 + #52 = #15 - Saints
#23 + #83 = #17 - Steelers
#23 + #102 = #20 - Bears

Likely there would a mid to late round pick or two added on either side in the negotiating. And the pick trade values aren't always perfectly followed so it could move a pick or two, particularly depending on who is available in relation to both teams needs. To me it looks like picks 15-17 are by far the most likely for them to trade up to and would likely be for Sharrif Floyd (DT), Lotulelei (DT), Milliner (CB), Austin (WR), Vaccaro (S), Richardson (DT), Cooper (G), Warmack (G), or Ogletree (LB). It wouldn't make much sense for them to trade up for anyone else unless it is only a pick or two. Obviously several of those guys won't be available in the mid-teens so it depends on who drops a little.

If memory serves me, a future pick in the 2014 draft would be worth a mid round pick one round lower (2014 first rounder is equal to 2013 mid second rounder). But future picks seem to have less hard and fast values so that could swing quite a bit one way or the other. Having 11 picks this year, I would be kind of surprised to see them trade away a pick from next year.

Trading up would be insanely stupid with all the holes on defense. DT, LB, CB are all major needs. Trading up would render the Harvin trade useless if they're going to trade the pick they got for him.

My perfect scenario be taking a lb and DT the first round and waiting and getting a guy like Robert Woods in the second round.

I hear there are a couple sleeper mid round LBs they could get. That is what I'm hoping.
