Coaches named in ISU release

Didn't we make over 1400?

No, the 500 illegal calls made by Baylor correspond to the 79 by us (24 + 55). See the chart below.

As an interesting side point, I don't think these infractions are even considered "illegal" anymore. Didn't the NCAA relax that rule? It's just that they were violations back then. So, I think it would be pretty bush league for the NCAA to hammer us. But, bush league is also kind of their M.O.

Plus, I don't think Baylor reviewed all sports. Iowa State did. I wonder how many years Baylor reviewed.

I would encourage everyone to calm down and not get super excited about this. Don't listen to KXNO or Keith Murphy or the Register or the Tribune. It is spring and they are bored.

I think it's obvious that Fred initiated this investigation in order to give himself a good-guy excuse to fly away to the NBA.......

It's also obvious that the moon really is made of cheese, and witches fly past it on their broomsticks.
Don't you dare besmirch Fred's saintly reputation. Fred is moony,(I mean dreamy) and he is certainly no witch!

Baylor's violations:

Total
Violations:
1. 580 Total Telephone Calls
2. 778 Text Messages
3. ?? Because of Poor Documentation

Other
Violations:
1. MBB – Failure to Monitor by Head Coach
2. MBB – Impermissible Talent Scouts
3. WBB – Impermissible Employment of Prospects
4. WBB – Impermissible Recruiting Publicity
5. WBB – Impermissible Recruiting Contacts

"Again, our institution deeply regrets that Moore communicated via texts with his former
players, even if he was responding as a mentor, and not in any way recruiting those
prospective student athletes. Upon discovery of the violations, Iowa State University
immediately removed Moore from his position and ceased all recruiting contact with the
potential student athletes. None were offered athletics financial aid or a spot on the team
as a walk-on student athlete, so Iowa State University clearly received no competitive
advantage from Moore’s impermissible texts."

Moore had the most violations of anyone involved, if I read it right.

We're ISU... so we're screwed. Trust me, the NCAA will make an example out of us.

Actually, it doesn't even matter anymore. In the release, it says that Iowa State made major NCAA violations. So no matter what the penalty ends up being, we'll still be considered "cheaters" now no matter what.

Just great news. Ruins basically anything we've accomplished as far as I'm concerned. So we made some crappy bowl games and got to the NCAA Tournament 2 years in a row by cheating.... what a great accomplishment! Not.

And yes, I know I'll get ripped again for posting this, but who cares. And there are those that won't believe we benefited in any way from these phone calls, and of course, there will be no way to tell if we did or didn't, but it will be assumed in the public court of opinion that we did, so it doesn't matter.

Who knows if we landed Royce White because of some of these calls? Who knows what football recruits we might have been able to get because of all these illegal calls?

I'm just getting so sick of college athletics in general, and the NCAA too.

Was Jok one of those athletes that we stopped recruiting? Kinda curious. It would explain why we seemed to have backed off. His injury was always my thought but maybe not.

Wow, I'd hate being you. I thought I was a negative person but now I feel as if my *** generates sunshine every morning.

That's your opinion.

I just live in the real world. Any victory we get this year in football or basketball will basically have an asterisk after it because we "cheated" in the eyes of the NCAA and the rest of the country.

So who really gives a rat's you know what.

Yep. Moore was the mentor for Jok and why he we sat very well with him prior to his injuries. There was a rumor that we could not, or would not, go after Jok last summer even if we wanted to. It makes sense now.

When we hire a coach with prior connections to a player it is a violation- when KU does it, it is good recruiting. We should have just hired Jok's father as a coach.

You are the greatest troll on this site. Good job outta you.

FYI it's clear we didn't get White b/c of this. Robinson wasn't here and Lefty Moore was not in contact with him. None of our current assistants where at fault

Holy Drama Queen!!!!

We already punished the wrong doers and I will bet lots of money that the NCAA does nothing more significant to punish us.

Regarding your next post about every win this year having an asterisk, that's just plain stupid considering this was all between 2008 and 2011 and has absolutely nothing to do with this years teams.

I bet you were a bit over-prepared for Y2K. Dude, get a hold of yourself- that is pure BS.

How hard can it be to understand the words Arob quoted: When a player's name was included on that list, we stopped recruiting them, never offered them, and they never came here. There's no taint or cheating at all in this.

I really don't see how anyone can be concerned over this unless they either make an active decision to be concerned or actively troll. There's really nothing there.
