stinnett

There has been a rumor, but just like the rumor on here after his visit to ISU that he committed to us. With this guy, you can't take anything seriously until it's official.

And a solid source told me he had committed to ISU after his visit here.

People, leave this kid alone. He'll commit when he's ready. None of us likes this situation, yet we're not accomplishing anything by discussing the kid each and every day - questioning his desire to be a Cyclone.

We'll know soon enough.

Do we really care if he goes to Creighton? Oh by the way, it would be nice if McDermott got a series going with them, at least a home and home.

Creighton would be thrilled to play ISU every year on a rotating basis. It would be great for the fans to have a short travel game. Unfortunately, GMac has said he won't schedule the Jays. Too bad.

I do not blame McD - Creighton is a better team at this point.

Good luck to him, time to move on. I think we need a big guy instead of another guard anyway.

As in any recruiting, you never know how this will turn out. Maybe we'll sign a player now who will turn out to be way better. Or, maybe Stinnett will be great...who knows. Just have to wait and see.

With the Creighton scheduling, I always enjoyed going over to Civic Auditorium to see ISU-Creighton games in the Johnny Orr days. Too bad we can't get at least a two-year deal with them.

Scout is showing Stinnett as a Creighton commit. Appearently, it is now official.

He is starting to sound like trouble. We don't need another player with Stinson's attitude.

God forbid we get anybody who puts it all on the line every night and plays for half a season with a pretty gruesome injury.

Stinson had his problems to be sure, but I'll take a Curtis Stinson on my team every year.

Agreed. Stinson had moments where he should have been benched for few minutes to gather his head but Wayne never did that. At the same time, the dude averaged near 20 a game. The BigXII leading scorer in any year is usually around 20 a game. You can't deny he put up points. He was a player. I'd take him back now in a heart beat.

I'd like to know at what point ISU basketball became such a powerhouse that we have a "we don't want him anyway" mentality about a 4 star recruit.

Can someone point out the date in which we crossed this barrier? I’ve searched high and low – unable to find it.

I think it was the same time the fans thought they could change the Fball coach, instead of the AD doing it.

I had more of a problem with a kid who felt he should just be given a starting spot before earning or heaven forbid having to earn it. Not the mentality I like.

Of course I don't if that was the specific reason but it sounded like he wanted a situation where he was the starter from day 1.
