NFL: Dolphins' New Logo

Because it seems like I only start threads related to logos:

The Miami Dolphins confirm their new logo appeared on NFL.com this morning. - South Florida Sun-Sentinel.com

I don't think it's a bad logo in general (maybe for a tour company), but a poor fit. The original is so iconic to me since they were such a popular team when I was growing up. The new one is definitely sleeker but lacks the attitude. Seems more like a secondary patch for a baseball team than an NFL logo. Thoughts?

Looks like a juice drink logo
 
That dolphin is going to be a victim of a concussion if he plays without a helmet.

I've never liked Miami's unis/helmet but I figured they always kept it because they went undefeated in those unis which I can respect. If you're going to do a new logo then do a new one. This is a weak version of the original. Not as bad as Cracked Out Herky but along the same line.
 
I like it better. The dolphin is a very intelligent animal, and all these years we've made it wear a dunce helmet.

Looks like a mistake tattoo that thousands of girls have just above their hipbones in the 90's and 00's. My only question is will they add distortion and/or stretch marks to the logo in a few years like said girls?
 
You just can't make a dolphin logo look intimidating. They are just not a mean fish.
 
the new logo looks awfully gay. and by gay i do mean carefree and showy.

i am a dolphins fan, and though the old logo also looked stupid (who puts a helmet on a dolphin? really?), this one has to take the cake as the worst mascot in the nfl. at least the old dolphin looked a bit sinister. this one looks like the kids model.
