I did not get a chance to see or listen to any of the game yesterday. Also, I have not had time to read any of the threads involving the game.

My question is, did Boozer's points come in the last 10 or so minutes of the game that are so lovingly called "garbage time"? Same question about Haluska, I see that he broke the streak?

To answer your question - yes, all points came in garbage time.

I ask this because I, like many others on this board would like to see Boozer and Lee get some more time instead of the dead beat former walk-ons that we currently have playing.

and I'm sure you're better than they are...

Haluska broke his streak and Boozer got points both in garbage time.

I was there to witness history with Haluska hitting his shot. Me and three other Iowa Staters were sitting in the KSU student section and we went crazy and everyone was looking at us wondering why we were going so crazy... I told them it was his first 3-point make in about 28 attempts. Needless to say, they understood why we were so excited...

I hate when outside people trash our players, but its even worse when our own do it.

Without walk-ons my favorite Cyclone Jeff Hornacek would have never been here. Jeff was a big part of Hilton Magic along with Barry Stevens and Jeff Grayer. There were so many times when he pulled our butts out of the fire with a pass, shot, or steal. Heck, Sports Illustrated once dubbed him the Patron Saint of Walk-Ons.

I want to see Lee get some PT for sure, he is so quick on defense.
I want some more of Booz, too. He seems to have a lot of potential. I'm just waiting on him to be a consistant 3-point shooter.
Long story short, I think we should start playing them more during the "competitive" part of the game, I'm curious to see what they can do against some opposing teams' starters.

There is absolutely no need for that crap - ever. Pathetic...

Okay, maybe the dead beat part was a little harsh but I would really like to get back to the days when we had great guard play.

Do you think you're the only person on this board (or elsewhere) thinking...

"Man, I wish we could play better at the guard position."?

Um, no.

However, I do think you're the first to refer to our guards as "dead beats". It was more than harsh - it was just plain crude and uncalled for.

Everyone is frustrated - just have a level head about it.

I have had a level head about it up until now. Please forgive me if I let my emotions get the best of me after consecutive 20+ point losses.

I'm definitely a fan of Cam Lee, I think he's going to be fun to watch as he gets better. I also hope things work out for Boozer, it would be a lot of fun if he develops into a good player. He could draw a little national attention with his name alone, and Carlos might come to a few more games.

Losing two games by more than 20 when playing on the road against two teams very likely to make an impact in the NCAA tournament while we have several young players and no guards experienced with high-caliber competition. Watch out, the sky is falling! :biglaugh:

Greg was quoted recently as saying he thinks we are close. Having said that, I was a little taken aback at our performance yesterday......our O is pretty lethargic right now, mainly due to our inability to get the ball into the lane consistently. Partly, its due to lack of penetration, but its not all the guards fault. We win as a team and lose as a team.

Yeah, it seems we cant do a darn thing against the zone. There has too be something coaching wise to get errr done. They always used Stinson in the low block to beat the zone with Morgan.
