We didn't lose because of the missed block/charge call

1:40 left when it happened. Not under a minute.

Still bad call though.

Exactly. They could have went on an 8-0 run to end the game. We went on a 13-0 run in 2 minutes 10 seconds.

This call and the Kansas call are completely different. There was a few seconds left in the Kansas game, 90 seconds left in the Ohio St game.

I don't understand why everyone wants to blame someone for our loss. We turned the ball over with a minute left and didn't rebound with 30 seconds left. We handed them the opportunity to win the game.

I hate to say, but I agree. The missed call swung momentum, no question, but ISU lacked mental toughness down the stretch, yet again.

It was a close call and probably a bad call. But the game was VERY well officiated overall. If this had been called like a Big10 game, we wouldn't have had a chance. I was shocked at some of the calls we got -- not because they weren't right, only because they almost never get called that way anymore.

Because the two or three point takeaway changed the game flow. Duh.

The other thing no one is mentioning is there was a minute and forty five seconds left on the clock. A four point lead with nearly 2 minutes left is far from a sure thing. Hell, we went on a 12-0 run in a 1:45.

It was a bad call but this isn't the Kansas game. There were plenty of other variables at the end of this game that resulted in our loss.

I have a rule. If you're arguing with someone who doesn't understand that when you're a #10 seed playing what is essentially a road game against a #2 seed on a nine-game winning streak, a three going on four-point lead with 1:30 to play is better than a one-point lead, then stop arguing. You've already won.

The call changed momentum, but only because ISU let it change momentum. Total lack of mental toughness down the stretch. Credit Craft for the clutch shot, but that turnover with a minute left is still eating at me.

I don't think we showed a lack of mental toughness. You don't make a late comeback to take the lead when down 13 against a number 2 seed if you lack mental toughness.

I dont think anyone is saying that a 4-point lead is not better then a 1 point lead. However, ISU still let OSU score the last 4 points, had an empty possession, and missed a huge rebound after the missed call.

Im talking after the "charge" call. ISU had 100% of the momentum before the call.

This is a little harsh. The turnover was a real good defensive play made by Thomas. That play had worked the last two times we ran it, and looked open again. Also the rebound was a tough rebound. Thomas was right there and had his hand in on the play.

Well then, it seems like had they not botched the call, and had everything else after the non-botched call played out exactly as it actually did, at worst we're playing OT. IT WAS MASSIVELY IMPACTFUL.

Yes, we "had our chances." But between OSU's physical talent and our own miscues we have enough to overcome without the officials getting involved.

You don't lose a game because of one play. We still were up by 1 pt at that point in the game. I would blame the loss more on the turnover with a minute left and the missed rebound with 29 seconds left.

Did the refs miss the block on Craft. Yes.
Was it a bad call. Yes
Was it a close call. Yes
Was it the reason we lost the game. NO!

It was a 5 point swing, and the reason the Cyclones lost. Everything else in the game had evened itself out to that point. Turnovers, rebounds, missed FT's for both teams, had created a one point game. This call swung it from Iowa State up 4 to OSU up 1. It changed the outcome.

ISU probably went from a 80% chance of winning the game to a 50% with that call. It wasn't the reason ISU the game, but it sure didn't help.

Are you just completely making up statistics?

It was a 2-3 point swing. The call swung it from ISU up 3 (with the possibility being of up 4) to ISU being up by 1. That call did not result in nay OSU points.

Just for fun, does anybody watch the official make the call, both arms go up with fists to call the block, changes his mind at the top to call charge...
