Chris Alexander

He was a lazy defender I know. I remember one game the assistant coaches were yelling at him all game to move around. He had 1 move on offense too.. dribble dribble then hook shot. I think for his size he had some talent but never really asserted himself.

Yeah he played only in a handful of games. The hype for this kid was enormous and I think if he would have stuck around he would have been a great player. I think he had academic problems and then he wanted to go pro for his family. Can anyone else remember more?

Started one game at ISU ... scored 26 points against some crappy team.

Had family issues and left to go back to Chicago.

Kind of funny, I had just mentioned him the other day talking with SLCyclone. I remember he had a hook shot that he used a lot... don't remember how nice of a hook shot it was. I do remember thinking that he could've turned into a pretty solid player had he stuck around.

I don't think ISU missed out on too much. I used to play in a pickup basketball league with a bunch of older (40-50ish) guys in downtown Minneapolis. Alexander was training for the NBA draft and played several games with us a few years ago. He was not dominating by any means, and the previous poster is right about his singular move (hook shot). He could have been taking it easy on everyone, but it sure didn't seem like it. He was a very nice guy though, and you can't teach height. Maybe a few years of seasoning in the NBA DL will help. Hope he catches on somewhere.

Can someone help me out with the guy that came off the bench last year in the Big XII and defended Durant? I have been trying to remember his name for like a week.

Yes thank you. I think the Chris is why I thought of it now. Thanks a lot.

From a 12/27 game against the Energy:

There was a lot of hype for Chris coming out of IHCC. On the first day of class I saw him reach up into a tree and start sniffing the leaves. From that day forward I knew he was a little slow. I had a friend who a basketball manager at the time, and said Eustacy was always on his butt because Alexander counld't get anything right. He was just slow all around.

He also punched some guy in a bar, which didn't help his status on the team either.

I remember one game where him a Skogs were in at the same time. Talk about big and slow.

Yeah it was at Sips we were kicking him out for getting in a fight. We had him all calmed down and had him standing off to the side as we were throughing the other guy out that he got in a fight with. Then some idiot decides to dump a pitcher of beer on his head then Alexander went off (the guy got up on a stool to do it). We had him tackled on the floor one guy on his head another on this torso, and another on his legs until the cops came to get him. He was a beast when he was pissed off. After he got in trouble he never played again.
