Statement

Hey Coach Bill Self! Can I have a word with you sir?
It is on the record that There was a HUGE mistake in your so-called victory up in Ames last night... This has been verified by the Big 12 and the league of officiating, Technically, you didn't win the game, but as it played out, you won under a few botched calls, and a big no call. ...any response?

I would have loved to see the reaction to this out at the basketball facility.

Under conference rules I am not allowed to comment on officiating. Next question...

Being a Big Monday game and all, at least most of the folks on the selection committee know what happened. A lot of the "eye test" folks (that usually get on my nerves) were the first to point out how atrocious the officiating was at the end there, and the Big 12 has pretty much said they were right with this statement. There may be an asterisk on this game in the minds of many on the committee. But ISU still needs to get two of these last three to lock it up.

I didn't expect them to make this, but I'd say this is about all I did expect IF they were to make a statement. I hope some of these refs get demoted to D3 games as a way of showing them they need to learn more about the game. but that won't happen.

The committee is under sensory overload during the process so I can see them easily forgetting all about it when the time comes. Let's just hope that the Big 12 representative (OU AD) makes sure to remind everyone about it when the time comes to evaluate ISU's resume. I'm not sure that will happen if OU and ISU are fighting for one of the last at large berths.

The most important part of the statement is that it is phrased in the plural. This is not about just one call, it is about a series of calls.

We have four games left, counting the Big 12 tournament opening game. Win any two, and we are in the tournament as a result of this, IMO.

KU derps keep saying how calls where bad the whole game starting with some call that led to Self's T.

EXCEPT HE DID THAT ON PURPOSE. One of the reporters talked to him and he said he did it to fire up his team and then winked to the crowd. How can you ***** about something your coach did ON PURPOSE.

Anyone who wants these refs to be demoted NOW are silly...they best punishment is to send them to Hilton for Okie State.

Then demote them.

Why? Literally nothing changed. Everyone in the nation outside of KU already knew there was bad calls.

Yeah, Misery got an apology for a correct call in FB. I see no apology here for last night or for issuing an apology to Misery who didn't deserve one. Without both I won't be happy.

I'm emailing JP! (:jimlad:)

I smell asterisk for the expected conference winner.:jimlad:
