I'm wondering if Gooden even takes his visit to ames now, he has verbaled to Missou and i'm sure they dont want him visiting another Big12 North school the weekend before signing day.....

I thought if we got to our visit and he hadnt committed it was an excellent sign....

Oh well.........i'm guessing we will hear this week that Kendall Wright has verbaled to either Oklahoma or Texas is my guess....

In my opinion, we will now offer Judah Linder who was in town last week on a visit and he has decent size and speed at 6-0, 175 and 4.45 speed not sure if he would come in as a DB or S, he may not be Gooden, but, who's to say his development may not make him better then gooden in the long run.....its all up to the young men and what they want to accomplish. One more name to watch, we've been talking with Lyle Cox a Safety from Missouri, with Gooden off the board that may be another direction we go, good size and speed (6'-0" 195 4.46 -combine timed). So either him or Linder have the athletic ability that Chiz and his staff look for, its just Gooden was a freak and could be an impact player you need in the secondary, if we don't get him hopefully his development will degress....

Couple of interesting sidenotes.....

We also had two WR prospects in town Eric Adeyemi a WR prospect committed to Kentucky, and Sedrick Johnson a Texas A&M commit, it would be a huge boost to get a guy like Johnson, but, Adeyemi also appears to be a prototype receiver in the spread.....

Oh where do we go now........

that sucks about gooden. Looked like he would be a solid prospect. I pay alot of attention to recruiting but im starting to loose interest in football recruting. Other than Bo there have not been any real surprises wbhere we got a high ranking prospect. Every guy that is potentially a 4* prospect usually drops ISU off their list before their final five. Its kinda depressing being ranked last in the big 12. And this year especially with the amount of decommits especially all the 3* who aren't coming here anymore.

Keep your head up Wheels - i feel some surprises coming....i think we have 5-6 commits left, our class could fill out with 3* and then everyone is excited again....Now if we fill it with guys that have "Potential" then we can all look at each other and scratch our heads.....

Remember on the De-Commits, if your recruiting players nobody else wants, theres a reason for it so our coaches have targeted upper tier players and with a few more wins this year, those will start to happen. Its rebuilding, a tough process - but, the idea of having our team in a better position is something i'm willing to endure the growing pains......

It's going to be more important than ever this season to win some games with the guys we've got, maybe even over the likes of Mizzou or KU at our place, to snag some of these recruits away from them next year. The success these two teams experienced in '07 has definitely affected recruiting for them and us.

I wish we could have gotten Gooden, he seemed like a great player. It kinda stinks that alot of the players we are recruiting and losing out on are going to our rivals. I wouldn't mind it as much if they were go to a school in another conference but when they sign to go to a Big 12 school expecially one in the North it is disheartening.

Thomas Gooden

Sorry if this is already on here. CN says (free stuff) Thomas

Gooden LB out of Orlando Fl commits. 6-0 205 4.7 40 .

He is listed as a 2*.

At this stage, unless there is a solid prospect, I think I'd rather keep schollies in the bank until next year, after we have improvement and at least a .500 record to sell.
