After watching the game at Baylor I could not stop thinking about how ugly their court looked with the two tone wood.

Just wanted to know what CFers thought made a good looking court. Does it need to be checkerboard like up in boston, dark, light, plain, two tone, or some wild design like up in Ducks land.

Who has good ones who has bad ones????

I have always been a fan of a medium finish with not a lot of flash or logos. My least favorite in the BIg 12 would be OSU because the wood is almost white.

I like the classic court without an obnoxious center logo. Have you seen South Carolina's court? That logo s way too big, same with Texa$. Parquet floors like the Celtics have is awesome, too. North Carolina has a classic look but I really like Hilton. The school colors work well with the shade of brown/tan for the court.

Edit - this has some great pictures on the topic.

For the most part I love ISU's court, although I'd love to see the IOWA STATE and CYCLONES bigger on the base lines and HILTON COLISEUM on the sideline. I'd also like to see the ISU-specific Big 12 logo on the court. I'd be open for discussion about doing something similar to what Ohio State has done with their court - in a stain shade slightly lighter than the rest of the court place the state of Iowa on center court with the I-STATE logo on top of it.

One final thought, I love the Brooklyn Nets' herringbone patterned court. Never seen that done before and it's such a cool look. Not necessarily saying I want that at Hilton, it's just a thought.

I really like Michigan's court.

The lighting and the stain in the floor need to work together, and no bullcrap like Oregon, Northwestern, etc. The old Big 8 schools did/do it right when it comes to basketball courts.

I wish the conference would start fining members for this. It looks like **** and sends an awful message
And costs a boatload of money to "fix" unless you just put a sticker down. In the middle of the lane would not be a good place for said sticker. I think the floor is refinished every other year so I'm guessing next year we'll have it?

Hilton needs a big 12 logo on it...but Hilton has the color of wood that I always think of when I think of a basketball court. It's just right

I like the big logo as well, especially when Tasheed Carr stomps on a huge Longhorn as time runs out after we score 24 points in OT.

The Brooklyn Nets have done pretty much everything right... Herringbone floors are awesome (and actually found quite a bit in NYC residences). I'm actually almost considering becoming an NBA fan just to cheer on the Nets...
