Wes Eikmeier = Ben Jacobson??

I talked to a coach who played (and lost) to Wes' HS team last Saturday. He has been coaching in NE for 15 yrs. Wes is the best he has seen. He believes he can be Player of the Year in Nebraska. He thinks he will be a very good Big 12 player, especially when he puts on some weight. It was very incouraging.

He weighs at least 170 now, at least he did before he season. If he gets up to 180 or 185 that isn't a bad weight for a freshman.

here, i found one, i thought it was Clayton Vette at first he's so huge! Like i can talk with my lil beer belly, as long as his string bean arms can get the ball in the hoop, its all good!

Pretty sure I saw Eikmeier walk off the court with the players before the game today. Can anybody else confirm this?

Everyone knocks Wes for playing in Nebraska for a small school, but he also plays the AAU circiut throughout the summer and still puts up impressive numbers. I really look forward to seeing him in a Cyclone uniform.

Could be Ben Jacobson could be Brock Jacobson.

My guess is someone more like Brooks McCowen

as someone who is a diehard Cyclone fan first, BUT also a big UNI fan 2nd, please god no, not a Brooks McKowen...kill me now.

I am praying Ben Jacobsen material who should benefit off of our other stud players in Brackins (Iowa State's version of Eric Coleman, except he has a 3-pt shot) and Wesley (if he and SHOULD stay.)

Both Eikmeier and Barnes were in attendance today.

Curious if they were there together. I am excited to see what Eikmeier will bring. He could shine quickly because of the lack of attention he will receive due to being on the floor with Johnson and Brackins.

What do you mean together? They say next to one another, if that's what you mean. But it wasn't a "hey, I wanna sit by Barnes" type of thing - as the recruits have a spot the coaches put them in.

The difference is that Wes E. wont be the star of the team. Defenses wont key on him, theyll be busy with Wesley and Craig'erz. Hopefully since he wont be watched everytime down the court, hell get some wide open 3's.

maybe alot like Sullivan his freshman year?

After watching Wes play, the comparison is almost uncanny. Wes is almost the same player as Jacobson was, but he's a little more athletic. Other than that, they could be brothers. They play the same style, and both have a sweet stroke and the ability to take over games. And, they both came from small schools.
