Ole Miss

Yep. I can see getting one #1 player at the position (Allen Lazard for ISU next year) but 3? and the #1 overall recruit? Plus 7 other in the top 300? Yikes...NCAA is fueling up the jets already...you got to keep this stuff at a slow burn - not explode all at once ;-)
Nick Saban will be checking this out.

If I was a parent of a top recruit and had any school I could pick. There is no way I would let me kid go to racist institution like Ole Miss...the brinks truck is gotta be involved

Here is some education for you...

Yea, I lived in Mississippi until about 2 weeks ago and went to many Ole Miss games and you know that they changed their mascot right to a Black Bear?

This is common in most of the SEC schools IAlabama, Tennessee, Mississippi State, Georgia, etc...) and is not just Ole Miss, so b/c of that, you won't let your kid go to an SEC school. It's just the fact that Ole Miss had a Rebel and along with that, the Confederate flag, as their mascot.

Now back to their signing day, I do think the boosters opened up their wallets for this years class. Stealing kids from other states and especially schools like Bama is very uncommon down in that area.

Some of you people need to get out and travel a little bit. It's not 1966 any more. Lots of areas in the South are much less racist than the North, especially the Northeast US.

It's STILL Mississippi!!! Ever been there? Double-wides everywhere, pathetic education system, home of Brett Favre ... it's not like it's Iowa City!!!

Don't know if this has been mentioned but...

Love how the NCAA will probably investigate Ole Miss but yet will turn a blind eye to the other schools in the SEC who are sending tips to the NCAA insinuating impropriety.

Because recruits coming from states like Georgia and Alabama have never lived in a place with double-wide trailers and poor education systems. I'm shocked they would consider a school in a place with a culture they're used to growing up in. :jimlad:

Clearly something fishy, IMO. They literally won their last conference title when they only had one black alumni. I see them getting in trouble with the NCAA relatively soon.

Ol' Miss is a Tier 3 SEC school in attendance, stadium, atmosphere, tradition. Not saying that's terrible, because a Tier 3 SEC school is still way above ISU in those areas. But seeing them beat out schools like Bama, LSU, Florida, Georgia for kids that aren't even in-state? That's fishy. Not saying I don't enjoy seeing those big boys squirm a little for not getting everyone they want, but if Oxford is so great, how come no one has ever really won there consistently?

The only thing that really bothers me is how the coaching staff acted like they won the national championship with each kid that committed. I can understand being elated that a kid with such talent commits to your school, but outwardly showing it like that might send the wrong message. I mean, why wouldn't a kid come into a program with an attitude of, "you are lucky to have me" after a reaction like that? It used to be, "kid, you are lucky we are recruiting you". Goes to show you how much the landscape has changed and not necessarily for the better I might add.

True. Mississippi always has good talent, but Treadwell, Tunsil and Nkemdiche are all from out of state. Nkemdiche and Tunsil are especially interesting pulls since they were both taken out of SEC states.

It'$ funny looking through thi$ thread and $eeing the$e name$ now!
